See, that's the difference between the billboard issue and this thread. The dude on the billboard posted "my ex-girlfriend." The dude on this forum is posting "slim." In his posts, there's no specific person identified. In your posts, you're specifically calling me out.

Funny how you have a problem with his actions yet no problem doing what you do.

The guy aired HIS laundry. He didn't air anyone else's.

If something is simple, should it have two meanings?

Yes. Really.

Remember a few weeks ago when the woman caught her husband cheating and said he had a small #######? NYC, I believe.

I've seen the billboard now. It neither IDs the man or "the mother" (The mother is the term used not ex-gf). IMO it looks like a typ. Pro Life sign.

I presume the argument would be that the billboard was strategically placed and that people in the area would recognise the man and work out that he was talking about her.

Still... I ask again... who puts up a billboard after a relationship breakup. It's pretty odd.

Oh, ok. If you want to be literal, then the 2nd Amendment doesn't contain the words, 'handgun,' nor does it make any distinction as to what is and isn't an 'arm'. Where in the 2nd Amendment does it say an 'arm' is a handgun, but not a tank, or a rifle, but not vile of anthrax?

Your right, arm does not mean handgun only, you can have a shot gun, rifle or even an automatic weapon.

There are state laws on this as to which gun you can own, for example some state you can semi auto and some u can own a fully auto, its not mandated by constitution.

Odd? I would say it's extremely pathetic. It shows a lack of class.

Either he really was emotionally distraught because his gf had an abortion, or he is a grade A jerk.

That's validating my point with Slim - that even the most cherished of all constitutional amendments requires interpretation. Slim's argument is that the Constitution is essentially free from interpretation and can be understood literally.

The fact that his ex has takne him to court says otherwise. The fact his lawyer insists that his client's account is "truth" rather confirms it.

It still doesn't put a name on the sign.

Exactly. There's nothing that says she's the one. She's the one who said she's the one. Had she remained mum on the subject, nobody woudl've known.

I presume the argument would be that the billboard was strategically placed and that people in the area would recognise the man and work out that he was talking about her.

Even still, there's nothing that definitively says it's her. Since it looks like any other typical pro-life sign it's not infringing upon her rights.

Still... I ask again... who puts up a billboard after a relationship breakup. It's pretty odd.

Someone with 1st Amendment rights, that's who.

Either he really was emotionally distraught because his gf had an abortion, or he is a grade A jerk.

Or he just felt like expressing his beliefs.

You can interpret it any way you like. However, at the end of the day, what does it say? It says, "shall not be infringed."

You even said there's no distinction between what an arm is. That means anything that could be considered an arm is specifically covered from not being infringed upon.

And there you are - interpreting what it 'means' vs. what it says. So, perhaps you'd like to rethink your argument that the Constitution is free from interpretation because we can just take it word for word, literally, as in the case, "All men are created equal," to not include women.

Isn't that why we had to add an amendment to include women? Because it said "men" and not "people?"

I'd say that all it says is that your right to bear and keep your arms shall not be infringed. Hence, you have a right to keep and bear your God given right arm and left arm. Everything beyond that is interpretation.
