You are so right...we are both strong minded but I am the impatient one. I am trying to expedite because of my child's medical issues that surfaced after I filed. We expected a long process, and still do, but now her condition is affecting my employment & my other children. Whether uscis will see this as emergent is another story.

Wish you the best of luck; you have to give the kid a priority

but you're also concerned with your own needs.

There are some things you can control and others you can't.

I shared some of my experience with you but each one's

situation is different. Hope you can work things out.

I didn't ask for an expedite but my mom is 86 years old

and having my wife around (when she is not working at

her 2 part time jobs) is a big help now that she is here.

My mom does all her own cooking, cleaning, etc. but

she is sometimes afraid of being alone. A real test of

the relationship is that my wife understands my mom's

needs and doesn't get upset when my mom is in a

"needy" mode. My two sisters-in-law keep the maximum

amount of distance from my mom as they have no

patience with her.

Thank You for your words of wisdom! Yes, I could use him here to cook, clean & do my handyman work :help: lol..no really, I could use some help...1 mom-3 kids, no family nearby...not easy, especially with the amount of doctors/hosp. visits we've been to lately. But hey, I am not alone out there...plenty of people worse off so I shouldn't whine. Glad your wife is with you...enjoy her

But what do you do to get your mind off of her? I am struggling to enjoy life normally...in limbo, just going through the motions, waiting for happy life to resume. Who would've known that after a few chats on facebook poker we'd be married 2.5 yrs later. If I only knew then what I know now...crazy what we do for "those 3 words"

She is always on my mind --that what keeps me focused and happy that one day we will be together . I persevered through all the ''trials and tribulations ( VSC , NVC, Medical, Embassy) '' and now I am reaping the rewards (we will be together within 30 days).I know the process can be frustrating but just focus on one day at a time . It may be slow but it is SURE .

Why did you only file in FEB 2011 ? I saw you were married in Sept 2010 . That's like 6-7 mths between marraige and filing .Maybe had your husband filed in Feb --your petition could have been processed by now . Just asking .

I'm the petitioner USC..he's a london bloke. I don't have an answer to why we didn't file sooner...we didn't get married to file. We got married when we felt like it & when it was convenient for me to take a month off work & a month away from my kids which could only be in summer. When I got back to NY, life took over! Kids back to school, bombarded at work, and then Christmas crept up fast...you know what that's like with 3 kids? Then I went to visit him the day after christmas until after new year's, so by the time I could think about filing it was Jan/Feb. Now I wish I filed right away, but oh well!

You know it Charles! Home Depot will be his new best friend and I can wash my hands of that awful place! I had to buy a lawn mower last year and was determined to not make myself look like such a naive chick when it came to tool shopping, so every guy that offered help, I declined. Stubborn....I had no idea what I was looking at, and no interest whatsoever. I had to call my husband in england to ask him what stuff meant lol...then I grabbed a little old man and asked which one he would buy. That is the very one I got

Thuy and I use the same phrase when one of us starts to get frazzled... "shut up, sit down, relax" we both know if it gets to that phrase, we need to take a time out and chill out... and if we say it.. we say it with a smile...

It is so much easier to let silly issues flow under the bridge and away like water than to try to stick with them and hold on like water against a Dam...

As long as he's the one wearing it, not me Darnell...if they don't let him in I don't know what I will do. I'll be stuck here until my kids are all grown up. I'll be a shriveled up old woman by then & changing his diapers :crying:

(he's 12 yrs older than me & I never forget to remind him =)

You're right Scott, we shouldn't sweat the small stuff. I think its the distance, 5 hr time difference, work schedule...he finds it harder when I first leave, I find it harder the more time passes since we were together. He's there alone in his flat with kids that are grown up that he sees rarely. I can't even take a shower without an audience. When we are together we are perfectly fine...apart, not so much.

Yeh, same here. One of the guys working in the yard tool dept. used to work at our local Just A Buck. I might have asked his opinion if I was shopping for plastic forks!
