I can’t believe I didn’t know about this website until today. It’s great to find so many helpful tips and advises from so many different people.

I hope someone can help me or point me to the right direction.

I filed for my fiancé at VSC on December 1st last year and got the NOA 1 with receipt date of 12/03/2010. Since then I haven’t heard from USCIS. My case status update on USCIS website and call to 1-800 automated system hasn’t changed since 12/03 as well. It will be exactly 5 months on 05/02 since the time I received first NOA. I and my fiancé have started to get frustrated with the wait and little worried now. Does someone else also have the same timeline? I saw some members on the forum with filing that after me at VSC has got their approval. Though I am happy for those people, but just don’t know what’s going on at USCIS.

Is it time for me to call the senator? Does someone know how to get to the live person on USCIS numbers to get the status? May be there is a way and I am just not seeing it due to all the anxiety and frustration. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Love and peace….thanks.

Hi,

It took 165 days for us to get our NOA2. We got our NOA1 on Nov 4 and NOA2 one week ago. I actually called them last Tuesday and they said we were still within the "normal processing time frame" and that I should call back in two days to have a service request put in. Not 10 minutes later, I got the NOA2 email!

Give it 5 months and then start calling. It can't hurt!

Good luck!

I got my NOA1 from VSC on November 10 and received my NOA2 on April 26. Until my NOA2, my case had not been touched (updated) since November 15. Furthermore, USCIS does not process them in "exact" order. I doubt writing your senator will help. Unless YOU or your family has a medical emergency or extreme hardship, you will have to wait like the rest of us. By the way, marriage is all about patience and compromise. Maybe USCIS knows this ;) Get used to it.
