Hi everyone,

We submitted our AOS package and included AP and EAD applications too. Thing is, I only supplied 2 photographs. Looks like 6 were required.

Does this mean RFE? We got our txt messages the app was received, but I'm guessing when things get processed, we'll get some sort of letter asking for them?

Thanks,

Mike

P.S. The AOS guide should more clearly state (more photos necessary if filing I-765, etc...)

You should be fine with 2 and I know all the forms EAD and AP require 2 each but apparently they copy them any way and the ones you send in are for your GC you get another pic taken at Bio and that one goes on your EAD and AP papers. Don't worry it will be ok

We also submitted only two photos for each of three immigrants. We didn't receive any RFE's, and everything was approved. I think you'll be fine.

Agree with the person who said you should have read the form instructions. Every situation is different and no "guide" can tell you situation specific things.

Also, yes, you should be fine with 2 pics. The instructions DO require 2 photos per app but some people have been fine not including them. I just wouldn't recommend it as a standard.

Yea... My wife hasn't let me have any peace over this one. I only sent two photos for the I-485 and did not notice about the I-765. I was assuming we will get an RFE, I am just sitting around waiting to see if it happens. I hope it turns out to be no impediment as with some of you other folks.

Good luck to all.

Good luck to all.

They scan one of the pictures into the applicant's computer file. The only reason they need more than one with each application is in case one of them doesn't scan well. Once they get a good scan then the rest of the pictures become redundant.

The picture from the computer file used to be used on the AP document, but that's changed. When you concurrently file for AOS, EAD and AP they are now adding the AP annotation to the EAD card:

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=44028bcbf851e210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=68439c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

With this change, the pictures you submit are no longer used for any document they issue. All of the documents they issue will use the picture taken at the biometrics appointment. I'm not sure what useful purpose there is to having a picture of the applicant on file between the time the application is received and the biometrics appointment. Maybe they use it if they get a name hit and need to compare the picture with a mug shot. Dunno.

I haven't yet heard of anyone getting an RFE for not sending more than two pictures, but anything is possible with USCIS.
