Sorry, newbie question. Is there a page or place that lists all the processes for complete integration into the US, along with all the time-lines (overlapping or not)? My main concern is filing all docs as quickly as possible. I don't want to find out after the fact that certain forms could have been submitted earlier. I suspect at the moment that i need to get married before any more forms can be dealt with here in the US. Thx!

Hiya

You'll usually get a fuller, quicker response to this sort of question by starting a new thread.

From your signature, it looks as though you've very recently filed a K-1 petition. Congratulations on your engagement! This process is very much one of hurry up and wait. Take time to read through the guides, linked at the top. The timelines are also available through the top menu bar, although these should only be used as an indicator, not a rule especially recently. A quick browse of the K-1 forum will show you that people have experienced a significant slowdown over the past 6 or 7 months of I-129F processing times.

There are forms and documents that you can get ready and gather up now, but not that you can submit.

My best recommendation would be to spend a lot of time reading through the Philippines regional forum, as it's important to familiarize yourself with what the US Embassy Manila requires for the visa application process.

Right now, if you want some immediate suggestions of what you should start gathering together, I would say file your 2010 taxes, start keeping a separate copy of your paystubs. Find out what is involved in the Philippines medical, get your fiancee to start getting any documents that she might need for the visa application, and make sure they're all accurate (birth certificates can often have wrong or misspelled names) and get advice from your regional forum about how they deal with medical issues that are more prevalent in the Philippines than elsewhere (like TB testing and if necessary treatment).

Once you get closer to your 'NOA2' date, the petition approval date and the paperwork reigns are handed over to your fiancee during her application process, you can start looking at what you need to gather together for the post-wedding paperwork.

Good luck!

So I'm curious about the biometrics letter. Will that come from your local USCIS office? I am so curious what date they will set for my husband, since we have to drive so far (5 hours) to get to our local USCIS office... I just hope it's not a problem to change the date. I think I read that it's not so bad to change your date for your biometrics appointment. (Unlike the AOS interview)

Finally my case number for I-485 showed up online. It says "we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action."

Little confused as i thought i will have Biometrics done before case progresses anywhere but still there i have not received any Bio letter. Also why did they transfer to CSC? Does every case go to CSC? Something wrong with my case?

Little confused as things are not occurring in the order i thought they will. :(

From what I've gathered, if a case is sent to CSC that generally means they won't require an interview from you so you're on one of the best tracks. Relax! Everything will be okay. :)

Before Journey:

Met online in 2002 as friends. Fell in love in 2005. Got engaged in 2010.

K-1 Journey, January 2010-July 2010:

NOA1: January 29. RFE: April 21. NOA2: June 4. Interview: July 15. Visa in hand: July 20. POE: July 22.

July 24, 2010: Married in front of 150 of our loved ones on a beautiful, sunny day. Living happily ever after and oh so thankful that 5 years of a long distance relationship and 7 months of a visa process is condensed into one line.

Wedding pictures! Because I'm shameless. http://s956.photobucket.com/albums/ae47/AmeriDaneWedding/

Adjustment of Status Journey, January 2011-March 2011:

January 25: NOA1 for AOS and EAD. Feb 5: Bio appointment received. Feb 7: RFE. Feb 11: Sent RFE response. Feb 23: AOS transfered to CSC. Feb 25: Biometrics. March 11: EAD approved! March 19: Received EAD. March 21: AOS approved! March 25: GC in hand!

And we'll live happily ever after.. for the next 2 years, anyway.

Thanks Lohninck. I feel little relaxed now.

xiucai:

Did you call them? I called them last week and they said there is nothing wrong with my case as i was afraid they may send me an RFE. I dont know but i think i may not get the Bio letter as i previously had H1B visa (2 times) and they always took my finger prints. Wild guess but nothing else seems logical as per my situation.

I did yesterday, totally useless. I was told I need to wait. I will call them again on Monday.

Oh hey, we just got ours in the mail today too. Dated 1/31/11, received today, the 5th, and set for the 25th at noon. Not too shabby. The only bad part is we have to go up to Elizabeth which is a not so nice part of NJ. But we'll survive.. I hope!
