Our journey is almost over!

Just wanted to post that the interview went well today! They only asked ONE question, "How long have you been together?" This whole process started for us back in June when we mailed in our K1 visa paperwork into to Vermont. Our NOA was July 7th, then the waiting game began! It has been what seemed like a really really long time. Everything went a lot faster once the we receieved the NOA2. I do suggest loading up the application and then loading up the paperwork that the beneficery has to mail in before the Interview. I think that is why they only asked ONE question.

Our whole process took 25 weeks- 175 days!! Now we just have to wait for the visa in hand, then the flight!!!!

No, I was not at the Interview. In fact I was at in the US...trying to keep busy all day. His Interview was at 2pm, but I became so nervous around that time that I had to be at the house.....but he didn't get called in until 6pm!!! 4 hours later, of course I was waiting thinking the worst!!! Finally he called me and told me that he had been waiting and waiting then only had to answer ONE question!!!

Besides filling out all the paperwork needed, we sent lots of pictures, letters from people vouching our relationship, tickets stubs, passports entries... Actually we have been together for 3 years and last year we took the WHOLE year off and just traveled around the world. SO we had pictures of us from various places all over the world and 15 countries stamps in our passport. He had made a really nice book of our trip, but they didn't even ask him for anything!!

When he went in for the Interview, they only asked how long we had been together. They told him our paperwork was ridiculously organized. We didn't make a book by any means, but we had everything paper clipped with a front cover for every section.

I also have a question, which packet (that you organized) are you talking about- is it the one you sent before the interview or the original packet that comes with the i-129f? I have only filed recently so I'm still learning all the procedures.

To answer your question:

Both packets the original one that I sent in with the 129F, as the US citizen I organized that one. I typed out covers for each section I.E., passport stamps, Photos, letters from friends and family, our family passport stamps when they visited each other, birth certificate, letters, emails. .....

Then once the 129F leaves the NVC it goes to the Embassy in their country. Once they receive it, the Embassy sent the non US citizen a packet and they have to return it. I sent him the originals I had and he included what he had with what he had. I know that my fiance is SUPER organized, so I can only imagine what he did!

He had made this amazing book of our trip around the world, but they didn't even ask to look at it!

I wasn't at the Interview, in fact I have not seen him since I filed back in June. It is just too expensive to fly back and forth from the US to Argentina... Cant wait until he arrives!! January 18th is his flight!!!

We also had a pretty neat compilation of our paperwork although it sounds like yours was even more over the top

I think I was asked 6 questions, but it seemed like he was more genuinely interested... who knows, maybe they like hearing the "how did you meet"-stories.

Either way, I have since then moved here to the US and while I am happy for you that everything has gone smooth so far there is more to come. Time to check out the next step: AOS

I'm currently impatiently awaiting the EAD/AP from the next process.

However, the most important part is that soon you two can be together full time! Yay!

Front-loading the I-129F petition with "evidence of bona fide relationship" can be worth its weight in gold, especially in regard to Latin/South American consulates (or indeed any consulate in a third-world country) that will receive everything from USCIS later. If you didn't do this initially and you receive an RFE, you have an opportunity to include additional evidence along with your specific response to the RFE.
