I have this same problem as well.. :unsure:

You should be fine now - you have made a post in the forums. That is what is required before you can add friends. If you still can't add friends now, let us know and we will investigate.

I can't add friends...
Have you tried now that you've made this post?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

You should be able to do so now. You just needed to make a post in one of the forums, first. This post counts.

Hi, I am a new member. I have since posted but I have not seen that icon on my profile that would enable me to add a friend. Could you assist me please? Thank you.

Hi JandRP, welcome to VisaJourney.

The icon on your profile won't be visible to you since you can't add yourself as a friend. People who visit your profile will see the 'Add me as a Friend' option (2nd one down) with the icon and can add you to their friends list. When you go to someone else's profile, you can see the 'add me as a friend' option underneath their name and avatar/photo. If you click on that, it will add your name to their friends list and their name to your friends' list. Basically, you request someone else to add you as a friend; you don't send out requests to others to add them to your friends list. That happens when you friend them.

I hope this helps :) . (I did see the Add Me as a Friend option on your profile page and I see that you do have 2 friends).

Well I see it says we need to publically post to get the add friends and other items turned on within our accounts. However so far I haven't felt the need to post a new thread as everything I want to ask is already handled in other threads, so I figured why duplicate it. Now I see that duplication might be needed just to get features turned on. :-)

How do I get the capability to add friends? I just did my first post today...I've been a "silent watcher" for a while...lol....now I'm ready to jump in and start doing more on here.

Oct 2, 2013 ~ CASE COMPLETE AND INTERVIEW DATE OF NOV. 20th!! WAHOOOOO!

Nov 20, 2013 ~ VISA APROVADA!!

Nov 26, 2013 ~ Picked Up Visa in Santo Domingo at Domex

Nov 27, 2013 ~ POE Atlanta....Then flew to Illinois....Picked my Hubby up at the Airport!!!
