Mine still on acceptance stage for I-485 and initial review for AP and EAD since 19 nov. I guess this is normal. Almost everyone here don't have any touches for a very long time. Relax. You can always call and check with uscis. Also, the holiday season just over, so they must resume their work now. Is just matter of time all of us will get some kind of updates. Keep a positive thinking.

Thank you for the info slangofoil. It says "at a USCIS office" not "a local USCIS office". Oh that's great. Did you receive the interview letter already? Ive read from some posts here that there is a greater chance that you will not have an interview anymore if your case is transferred to CSC.

No interview letter. I imagine you'd get another online update if they transferred the case to your local office for an interview. We most likely will just get approved for the green card without an interview.

I'm the USC petitioner.

Congrats on John's job, Clare! And those are my parent's names, with Clare spelled just like that too :)

I'd been feeling very frustrated with myself this week, because I'd tried to enroll at the local community college on the EMT Basic training course back in August, and had been misinformed that I couldn't qualify for in-state tuition until we'd filed joint state taxes this month. I then found out on Monday that I would have qualified back then through my spouse's status, but now that my I-94 has expired they will only accept my EAD/ CGC as residency proof.

So we managed to figure out how to afford out of state, instead of me waiting until the Summer semester and then I discovered that I have to get a TB skin test done, because my medical chest x-ray was done more than 6 months ago now. They've also added a drug test and fingerprinting from this semester and the price of the text book has gone up and has to be new because they are specifying the latest edition, so no second-hand buys.

The good news is that after being invited to flag these 'issues' to the Director of Student Services, she has approved my in-state rate and accepted my AOS NOA1 as an 'extension' of my I-94 status. Nothing I can do about the $100 extra I'll have to pay for tests and books, but it beats $2000 in tuition!

Thank you SunDrop and Ricky+Vanessa! He got hired at an Irish pub. We were out drinking with a friend who was visiting from Ireland. John chatted up the Irish bartender, went back for an interview two days later, and is starting tomorrow! It's nice how many Irish there are around the place and they're always willing to help one another out. This will be great to tide him over until he gets a job in what he really wants to do.

I hope both of your EADs come soon, and good luck with the classes SunDrop.

I'm the USC petitioner.
