It's to weed out bad marriages before they start! Thank you USCIS and the United States Government, for caring so much to spare me a divorce!

(you may not see me on here for a while, unless a certain someone apologizes BIG TIME)

If you aren't on here, how are you going to know if the "certain someone" apoligizes?

I would agree with the "weeding" out part, except that there are those few that despite this process don't make it. Thankfully my husband and I aren't one of those few. :)

As for your other comment...you should know by now that will generate lots of comments. ;)

Just a clarification... my (ex)fiance has the maturatity of a two year old and insists he can't live without me for one day, let alone several months. He says I have to choose between him (and leave immediately back to morocco) or choose my job. I'm several thousand dollars in debt with monthly credit card bills and a car payment. so leaving and quitting my job is not an option right now. when i told him (before his nice little ultimatum) that I COULD quit my job in december, that wasn't good enough for him. the fact that he gave me this ultimatum pisses me off and makes me realize that i would be living under a cloud of control for my whole life. so yeah.... anyway, i just needed to vent somewhere, i hope it at least provided a little bit of humor for you guys! and luckily my cancelled petition will help someone get processed jsut a little bit faster!

You are smart... give em lunch money and pin a one way ticket to his shirt and drop him at the airport.

Wow. I'm really happy for you that you had the strength to break it off. From the outside, it sure looks like you made the right decision! I'm sure this is a rough time, but you will get through it and find someone else wonderful.

Yeah I told him if he could find the money to pay off my debts, sure I'll come over there. But his whole living in a developing country and making 300 bucks a month just doesn't cut it for paying off that kinda money. When I told him exactly how much money it was, he was like "you're kidding right? you know i don't have that money." well, i got news for ya- even USC's can be poor! It's not just limited to your country. Life's hard everywhere ya go. Thanks for y'alls support! I feel better about the whole thing...

(((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) I'm glad you stood up for yourself girl! I know you must be hurting, angry, etc etc etc. That little scenario smacked very heavily of control...and once you were "his" it sounds like the control would have become worse. Been there done that...with an American no less (imagine that!) Hope things settle for you and you get out of debt (just did that m'self) soon. (F)(F)(F)
