Hullo - it's both !

Originals OR certified copies (certified from the issuing authority)

plus

standard photocopy.

Please read all 7 pages, at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html - this is a 'base thing' - and if yer not sure on this 'base thing', there may be more things yer missing.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

they will accept the photocopies.. but you need to bring originals on the day of interview.

maybe i get lucky on that

thats what i do.. i sent the photocopies and the day my wife's interview she brings the original. cause i sent the original when i sent along the I-130 to USCIS

on the NVC stage when i sent the DS-230 along the documents. i also attach a letter saying that i sent all original document that i have on USCIS and the beneficiary will bring the original documents on the day of the interview. only original that i sent is (NBI and POLICE CLEARANCE) and they complete the case without the original documents

maybe i get lucky on that :)

beter to send the original and photocopies on NVC. youll never know you might get a checklist. asking for original and delayed your case.

send the originals and photocopies

hi canadian wife i know NVC DOES ACCEPT PHOTO COPIES if you look at the NVC and a common sence point of view they dont need and requried photo copies because NVC have no worth and value of photo copies because NVC HAVE A DOCUMENT CHECKING DEVICE this device work is only to check document that this document is original or fake and when they check this document is original this computer device automaticaly scan and save op document in their immigration data base because NVC CANNOT SAVE PHOTO COPIES IN THE FILE NVC ONLY MAKE FILE TO SAVE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT IF IN CASE NVC REQUIRED ANY PHOTO COPIES OF ORIGINAL DOCUMENT THEY TAKE PRINT OUT COPY OF ORIGINAL DOCUMENT but this checking device is not so accurate this device accuracy is only 97 percent when nvc dont sure about that document this document is original or fake so in that case nvc send RFE to op when op send original document and photo copies to nvc nvc only accept original and destroy phot copies

mustafa - did you forget a 'not' in there?

also - is some great confusion for 'accept' versus 'require'.

hi darnell i think i will explain you in the way of example let suppose for example if op send photo copies to NVC how NVC know about that document that this document is fake or this document is REAL OR NOT BECAUSE IF OP SEND PHOTO COPIES TO NVC OP HAVE A LOTS OF CHANCES TO CHANGING AND AMENDMENT TO HIS DOCUMENT EASILY THAT WHY NVC ALWAY REQUEST TO PETATIONER AND BENEFECERY PLEASE SEND ORIGINAL DOCUMENT TO NVC

that why NVC ALWAY REQUEST

Mustafa,

You are funny :star: You are right too, but there was a spelling or word mistake in your previous quote.

You said: NVC cannot except photo copy

It must have been: NVC cannot accept photo copy

Mustafa,

It is just entertainment purpose only :star:

Once NVC told me that they have metal detector too. I asked why? The reply was to check how much plutonium 239 content is present in the photocopies since it is scanned using scanners which emits light and can mix with carbon. Though plutonium 239 absorbs carbon, there is a residual amount of carbon left on the document which scatters across it unevenly that not only causes the darkness on the face of the applicant in the passport, but it creates the nature full of carbon also. Another suggestion came up with the insider research fellows was why don't we use a glouse to hold these paper copies so that they don't have to wash their hands when they touch these carbon. Dr.Thomas Alva Disusa Pierry Adam Henry (Sorry for the long name, this doctor uses his name upto 5 generations old great gradparents!) recommended that the thick gloves would make the sensitivity of hand with the paper lesser and lesser and he suggested thin latex gloves will have a smooth contact between the hand and paper. Nevertheless, he argued that the slight contact of some sharp objects would cause this rubber to break down and the original purpose of the disease free (means no carbon touching by hand!) environment is highly impossible. Then the final conclusion was to detect these harmful metals tied to the paper such as clips, staples, binders etc., hence they started using metal detector!

If you send a CERTIFIED copy instead of the original, also mention in the cover letter that the original will be brought to the interview should further inspection be necessary. Just to clear it up for them.

Alles wird gut und wenn es noch nicht gut ist, ist es noch nicht vorbei.
