So I am starting to print out emails and phone records and pictures for proof, but I just realized that ALL my emails are in Spanish because my fiancee is in Panama so with that being said, will that cause a problem? I mean I have two years worth of emails and I am literally printing out like from everyday and it's WAY TOO MUCH but I understand that the more the better, so will my emails in spanish be an issue?

my guess would be that you would need to somehow get them translated to english...that is my guess....GOOD LUCK

Ok well I can try to do that since it is a handful but even then I just don't want them to come back and say well it's just a handfull please translate everything. If thats the case then I should just pick a few emails from every week and translate those and send them in. This is confusing!!!

I am in a 5 years and 3 months relationship, so I have 5 YEARS worth of emails!!.... and this is what I did... I printed off screenshots of my inbox showing emails from back in 2005 to 2010... two screenshots from each year... in those screenshots they can see my fiances email and dates.. so that will show them how often we comunicate (we would send like 2 to 5 emails to each other per day) and it was continuos.. then I picked two emails per year.. you can pick one if you want.. and translate them... thats how organized emails... that way you dont have to print off SOOO MANY because you can prove how often you guys talked with the screenshots of your inbox... and I did the same thing with chatlogs... screenshots of chatlogs from 2005 to 2010 and picked one conversation per year

As Gjen said I would just take screen shots of your email box, they don't want every email you have ever sent, as they would never read them anyway, they don't have the time. The main purpose of the correspondence is to make sure you are not rorting the system and trying to get your fiance in illegally. So do the screen shots of all the emails and highlight them. Same with your phone calls.A far as translation goes yes they will need them in english but personally I would just translate 5 each from the 2 years. I have just been through this with Vermont office and we only supplied 5 photos all dated and written on the back of where they were taken and a letter written by my fiance of how we met and signed in pen with his ID and 2 affadavits from people that knew us and our pending marriage and who had met me while I was in the states. Sometimes we can go over board on the evidence we give them but I suppose too much is better than too little but don't go over board is all I am saying. Use common sense is the key. good luck and hope this helps

My fiance and I have been in a relationship for over 10 years now. It would be totally crazy to send in everything. I cannot even find everything throughout the last 10 years time span. We sent a sampling from over the years of emails, cards/letters, chat logs, and phone records. When you go for the interview, take in more evidence from the time between you filed, and the time of your interview.

Technically everything you send the USCIS should be in English. However, I doubt they read that stuff anyway, as it is not needed for the petition stage. Sending in a sampling only might be easier to deal with as far as translations go. Good luck!

i have a question about this, sorry im new here, and im looking through forms but theres alot of topics to look through,

my and my fiance have been together for 2 years, and we did not really send many emails, we talk using msn instant messenger, and i have pretty much saved all the conversations, i mean we have a few emails but mostly we talked through the messenger. do i send them a cd with all the conversations or what do i do? the reason why i want to send it on a cd is because they have the dates they where saved,

and also the translator what certifications do they need to have? because my aunt in mexico is a certified english teacher who teaches at a university in mexico. is this good enough?

Also on the photos, none of them have dates on them, and they are to be printed ( digital photos ). so do i go to HEB or something to print them? and i just write on the back of it where it was taking and when? do we have to sign it too?

Also we have hand written notes to each other and i copied them to, they have dates on them and everything, do they also need to be translated?

i have toll road receipts and boarder receipts dating back from december of 09, i just started doing it, dose this help? do they need to be translated?

there is also a web page called metroflog.com and when we first started talking after we met, we did it through this site, but its been almost a year since we last used that site, everything is on there (dates, times, her name, my name, ect) can i use this as proof to, do it have to be translated?

im sorry i have alot of questions its jsut im new here and im just nervous, and im going down there this upcoming weekend to finnish the paperwork for the packet, and im only going to be there for one day, i jsut want to be sure i have everything, i appreciate the help

thank you for the help, ive looked through the step by step guide line for the K1, and i just wanted to be sure, i did not see where it stats that it has to be translated and if i print the conversations, they dont have dates and times, so im not sure if theyed accept it.

All that USCIS cares about is that you & she have met within 2 years of your filing of the petition, and that you are providing primary evidence of same (boarding passes, tickets, luggage receipts, etc.). In regard to the copies of "evidence of bona fide relationship," if you include them in your K-1 petition filing, USCIS will send them along to the consulate before the interview phase. The consulate will be able to read these native-language IMs without the need for translation. (This process of including "extra" information with the K-1 petition filing is called "front-loading," and it's very wise to do, depending on the consulate.) If you wish, you can pick a number of IMs, translate a couple of samples into English, and leave the others in the native language. Go ahead and annotate every item with dates, if you decide to include items that are currently not dated.

Others here may suggest refinements to the above advice.

Aww man < Reading all of your posts makes me feel like i am gonna get an RFE..YOU GUYS HAVE INFORMATION,since the first day u met.... i met my fiancee back in 2008 but i never thought id marry her or id fall in love with a woman overseas so i didnt even bother saving any of my MSn messenger chats... i mean i have a few emails but we always used to just chat on MSN messenger and i i met her a few times. i met her thru my sister in law who is also from a native country, which is panama ...so im practically screwed arent i.. i have boarding passes and flight itenary from when i visited her twice in this past 1 yr, i have passport stamps, hotel receipt for where i stayed in one of the visits i took and some photos of our engagement and of us spending time together but not many just about 5-8....

First, check the consulate website and see if translations are required. Many consulates accept documents and evidence in either English OR the native language of that country. More and more seem to be doing this.

You do not have to present every email in any case. We presented an email "log" basically a printout of the "folder" I kept all the emails in. I then provided 4 samples from each of us (8 emails total) over the span of our relationship. They do not (and will not) read all the emails. You are providing evidence of relationship. Emails are a type of evidence. Providing a log showing the volume of email, and several samples showing plausible evidence that those emails ARE from the two of you AND showing that they have continued regularly is all that is needed for the "email portion" so to speak. Yes, there are emails...check.

If translations are required, you can translate them yourself. Just attach a "ceritification" that they are true and correct and that you are competent in both languages. There are samples of translation certifications here at this site.
