No racial profiling - the brain operates by categorizing what it sees in order to make sense of the world around you. That is where stereotyping comes from.

During my repeat visits to Colombia, I was blown away by seeing Chinese-Colombians, Afro-Colombians, Lebanese-Colombians, German-Colombians, French (or Franco-Colombians), etc. You cannot stereotype a Colombian by bronze-colored skin and Black hair.

oh yes, those are totally comparable circumstances . if you think that a hispanic saleslady at macy's mistakenly thinking your wife is hispanic or some shite is a parallel experience to being stopped by police for no other reason than looking hispanic, being detained by police if you can't immediately provide proof of citizenship or legality and possibly being held in a jail cell or one of those freakish tent city jails until you can prove you're "legal" then you are a complete idiot.

immigration laws need to be enforced in a way that does not possibly ensnare and harass american citizens and others who are here legally because they might sorta kinda look like a mexican.
