looks like bread is not as popular as cake. val, it looks like this thread was a bad idea :crying:

I like challah or brioche. I make homemade bread a few times every week. If I make something like challah or brioche I make honey butter to go with it. you just soften a stick of unsalted butter and add in some honey and powedered sugar. it's easier to use a mixer to whip some air into it too.

I make my own bread or rolls, usually whole wheat (or ultragrain) to get a good portion of fiber and good carbs into the kids and my husband.

I'm not sure if i have favorite bread I sorta like them all. I make all our bread, white, 100% whole wheat, and sometimes I make sour dough clover leafs buns. The kids like it when I make challah, my husbands likes it when I make anything he thinks he is spoiled and has missed out as a child. There is nothing better then fresh bread eaten while still warm.

olive bread. walnut bread. foccacia. ciabatta. honey whole wheat.

now I'm thinking about bread. I really have no desire to eat it but I'm thinking about it. I'm making a list of things I have to make when I get home.

I just saw this thread, sorry, Amby!

OK, I actually made a loaf of Amish bread today, and used the rest of the dough (recipe was for 2 loaves) to make cinnamon buns. Not as impressed with the buns as the ones my Mom makes, but that somehow hasn't stopped me from going back for seconds. The bread though...WOW is it good! I halved the sugar because I dislike my bread too sweet.

Hmmm. Thinking all that may have been TMI. Oh well.

So, really, is zucchini bread a bread, or a cake? I always felt it fell more in the cake category, a dense, yummy cake. Without icing.
