Hello everyone

I filed for a Social security card last week .And i got it today .Yeah i know that was fast LOL .

My question is they typed on my social security card '' Valid for work only with DHS authorizatiob ''

So i want to know is that normal ? Will i have to file for another card when i will get the green card or what ????

The card you received is correct.. With GC in hands, you will have to revisit the SS Offfice and remove the conditions. Simple to do..

According on what you said, It happens because K-1 is a non-imigrant visa, so you need to file your AOS and EAD., etc. So you better follow this link to find your next steps.AOS

Congrats on the SS number!!! Now you can be put on the checking account, beneficiary for life insurances..etc....that what was holding Sameh back...now on to a job!!

yaaaaaaaaaaayyy you have you ss card.. that's great!!! but please don't carry it around in your wallet, it could get lost or stolen....if you know you are going somewhere that needs to see it, take it then but when you get back home put it in a safe place... too much identity theft out here... many blessings :thumbs::thumbs:

Yes, it's normal and, no, you don't have to exchange it.

Once you have your Green Card, you have the formal "DHS autorization." At any job you apply, they will have to ask you if you are authorized to work legally in the USA. Thus, as a resident you will always have to show your Green Card as proof of that anyway. Therefore, it doesn't matter if that sentence is on your Social Security card or not. You basically need your SS card at most every time you start a new job. Oftentimes you don't even have to show the card; they just need the number.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . .
