In the context of a search for weapons, the boarding can be justified under international law.

The first actual violence was instigated by the "activists" on board the ships. Even Al Jazeera are no longer disputing this. The Israeli troops reacted in self-defence and the deaths were a result of "activists" disarming Israelis and using their own firearms against them, provoking the inevitable soldiers' reaction.

So don't get insulting when someone disagrees with your one-sided POV.

Tell that to Fox news, the savages were thirsty for blood as usual and killed the people on the ship.

Please just call them Fox. News has nothing to do with it. :)

Tell that to Fox news, the savages were thirsty for blood as usual and killed the people on the ship.

So, even when the most pro-Palestinian news agency agrees that the "activists" on board the Mavi Marmara instigated the violence, it's still the Israelis (with their paintball guns in hand at the start) who were "the savages ... thirsty for blood as usual and killed the people on the ship".

Then no amount of proof in the world will convince you otherwise and you will remain blind to the truth.

Neither side here were angels, but only one side entered the situation with blood on their minds. And it wasn't the Israelis.

So be it. We'll both walk through life blind. Before I am blind, I will do anything in my power as a US citizen to block any civilian or military aid to Israel. I doubt I'll have much luck, but I'm sure gonna try.

Laugh. Yeah those sticks and tons of cement were really gonna give it to the IDF. You have managed to make me laugh once again.

Why should we block American aid to the Palestinians? Israel takes care of that for us. Should we spend more $ on it?

Agreed. That's why they took the holstered sidearms off the Israeli soldiers and started using them.

If i was unarmed and attacked by armed people, the first thing I would do is try to arm myself. I doubt they thought the people descending from helicopters were there to welcome them with cake. Once again, let me spell it out.... INTERNATIONAL waters.

When searching for arms, boarding a ship in international waters is in accordance with international law.

We can argue all day about the likelihood of the ships carrying weapons, but from an Israeli POV, they had no first-hand proof, therefore they may well be able to claim legitimacy in international court for their actions.

Neither were the passengers "unarmed". Knives and clubs will kill you just as dead, given the opportunity. Guns just do it faster and from a distance.

And, should you take a gun from a soldier and try using it, you can bet your life (literally) that his comrade will use their gun on you, because to a soldier, there is nothing as dangerous as an amateur with a gun.

I always thought pirates climb ships, but these terrorists used helicopters and landed at dark, they start shooting in the head( as usual) before their filthy bodies got to the ground.

In all fairness dude, if someone entered my house, car or boat, they better be prepared to face a range of weapons of my own.

I find it ridiculous that anyone says, but they attacked the IDF first. Which tends to happen when you board another person's boat. Otherwise, what did they want them to do? Greet them with food and open arms.

Edited by Booyah!

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Hey once again INTERNATIONAL waters. They had "clubs", the soldiers had machine guns. Man this is frustrating. Well have fun with it today. I see you have already drank a gallon of the kool aid.

According to Al Jazeera, the "activists" instigated the violence. According to a number of reports, the "activists" opened fire first. Your POV is steadily losing traction, as what really happened slowly escapes suppression and filters out into the public domain.

And Israel will argue that they were searching for weapons on the ships, which, should they be successful in their backing-up their assertion, would mean they were acting in accordance with international law.
