Mai Tai:

1 oz Gold Rum

1 oz Dark rum

1 oz Triple Sec

1/2 oz Lime juice

1/2 oz Orgeat syrup

Pineapple and maraschino cherries to garnish.

Shake all but the dark rum over ice and strain into a highball glass with ice.

Float the dark rum over the top..

Add garnish and enjoy...

OOH - I LOVE bread pudding - have to make this - and of course, I'm going to add raisins and apples just because I can :P

My grandma used to make it with raisins also and with a lemon sauce to pour over it. She'd use stale, old bread. :)

I am fiend for singapura food.

Here's some recipes for my fav cravings:

Curry Fish head - http://www.makantime.com/fishhead.htm

Laksa http://www.makantime.com/laksa.htm (penang laksa tastes like @ss, don't make it)

Hokkien Mee - http://www.makantime.com/haemee.htm

I can get all ingredients fresh in Houston; alas, my current diet - cannot eat any of this.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

While I'm at it, recipe for the best gooseberry fool ever. Gooseberries are impossible to source here, so I use tinned or substitute raspberries. Come to think of it, I also substitute tinned custard over here since there is no fresh, an enduring wail of mine, and could be the clincher in my feelings I need to move back permanently: http://www.waitrose.com/recipe/Gooseberry_Fool.aspx

Fresh Gooseberries in Houston, when it's 'The Season'. Maybe need to find Houston Friend? let me know when you find a Houston friend, I'll divulge market name. These are grown in Texas, trucked into Houston markets. Is not common, but I found them 4 years ago, then tracked the growers.

I have a Houston friend and I shall have to harangue her. Many happy memories of plucking gooseberries from the tree in Suffolk years ago when I was married to Richie Rich (UK format).

I love gooseberries, and I live in Houston...can I have the market name? Pretty please? Also the name of any good farmers' market here; I went to one last Saturday and was sorely disappointed.
