Unfortunately, we were not able to get into a local office today.

However, we did what we were told to do by the person on the USCIS cust serv #. He said to send it all in again, to make sure it was received by Tues...HELLO!!!!! Memorial Weekend! We paid over $18.00 to be SURE it is received by Sat. That way, we have a tracking # and the name of whoever receives it. If there is no one to receive it on Sat, it will be redelivered on Tues. If they abandon his application, we will raise HELL, and maybe once they see what idiots they have been, they will expedite our case. Ok, this may be wishful thinking...but I CAN wish.

I would still go into your local ASC with your letter on Tuesday (no matter where it says it's supposed to be)

I had also changed my address before I moved to a different state. They sent my biometrics appointment for Minnesota while I had already moved to Wisconsin so I just went to Wisconsin office. They let me do it without asking any questions. I took my change of address letter that I got from USCIS, but never had to use it.

You should go to the local USCIS preferably before your appointment day and tell them about your situation. Most likely they will let you do it there.

I agree, you seriously need to go...worst case is they say no (which probably is not the case) and you don't risk the application to be abandoned. They are opened 8-4 pm I think so that's almost a full day. Good luck!

So, we made it to the field office in San Antonio today. The agent changed our address (third times a charm, right?) and said my husband can do a walk in biometrics tomorrow across the street from them.

He also said that he can't tell us what kind of stuff will qualify for proof of support and that we should get a co-sponsor. He gave us a form to read over (I think it's the same that is on their website) that explains what can and can't be used. What we sent in before was proof of my income, which at that time was WELL over the requirement. Now that I am unemployed, we plan to use our bank statement, my 401k statement, and the equity in our house. Together, those FAR exceed the requirement.

The interesting this was this....he asked if we contacted the NCSC to change our address. I said yes, but I don't really trust them. Obviously, since our address still said we were in Cali, it never got changed. I said, they were the same people that also told us in the beginning, to just have my (then) fiance come over, get married and adjust status. The agent THERE at our infopass appointment said, "Well, you could have done that you know." I said, "Yes, but as I understand it, to have him come over with intention to get married and adjust is not legal." He actually kind of rolled his eyes and said, "Yeah....well...."

OMG...if THEY are even suggesting it what's that say about our system!

The people at the USCIS make up their own rules I think...scary.

Interesting, Blu. Keep the faith, and keep plowing through the mucked-up system, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this little gem. I made WELL over the poverty line requirements for the last SEVERAL years, and they say I don't make enough. I sent them documentation to support my income and other assets. #######!!!????!!!

-Blu- (OMG, SO irratated!)

Just guessing here since you didn't say what proofs of income you sent---

Did you include your W2 form with your tax return? A lot of people still don't realize that's part of a complete tax return, along with the 1040 and any Schedules. That would generate an RFE saying the generic "you don't make enough" because of not proving it with a W2 or alternatively with a tax transcript.
