If you only want to look at the bad side of the equation, that's what you'll see but just like the regular community, undocumented aliens are made up of a myriad of different personalities, and live in a myriad of different situations and some of these people will have saved lives, reported crimes, helped make the streets safer even while some of their number will have committed rape, murder and other nasty crimes so again, total crock of ###### argument. It's unquantifiable and only those who see undocumented aliens as some kind of demon class because they are capable of crossing a border without notifying the authorities would propose such a line.

Relevant to what? That rape happens in the US? Rubbish. Trying to turn undocumented aliens into a sub class of evil because they cross a border or remain in a country without authorization is what you guys do best, but it helps no one, least of all those who are trying to reduce the numbers of undocumented aliens in the country.

I 100% get what your saying, but I also see mawilson's point.

He is saying if you have a population of 100,000 and a police force of 100 and then 20,000 of the population is illegal and they are removed you have gone from a ratio of 1:1000, to a ratio of 1:800 and if all populations commit crimes at an equal rate you have effectively cut crime by 20%.

Geez of course the fact that he is a illegal alien is relevant. If we had a effective way of controlling illegal immigrants then maybe this poor woman would of been spared this horrible thing that happened to her. It will be, it always is, he will get deported again after serving whatever sentence is imposed. What else would you like to happen to him? Shot? Hanged? Drawn and quartered? He's clearly a dysfunctional person who is not very impressed with regulation, law and order even if he functions well enough to know what that means but whether or not he is documented or not documented really doesn't change anything about that. It seems you have this fanciful idea that such people can be identified on sight and dealt with preemptively. Good luck with that. Do not get me wrong, it would be great if one could know before hand what crappy things someone is likely to do but, living in the real world, I know that's not possible.

It would, even if by a small margin because police presence is stronger. You could also look at it from a US citizen's perspective. If there are 48,000 males in the population and you remove 11,000 then the chance of rape is less for a US citizen. You could also make the arguement that there are more illegal males than females. As we know males are much more likely to rape someone than a female.

Only someone in denial of how real life works would believe that one's chances of being raped vary dependent on how many undocumented aliens are in ones community. However this was not an act that can be justified in any shape or form, and I am not trying to but, of course you don't get that.

I can't be bothered with the irrational fury of people who are permanently on the edge of outrage. I feel sorry for all victims of rape, not that that helps them but it is a terrible crime, and personally, I don't feel more furious because of their legal status.

So when this animal serves his time, gets deported & makes his way back to the US, & if he commits another crime...what are you going to say then? What an unfortunate event??

The only time an illegal criminal deserves more than a US citizen is jail time.

How many positive acts have been performed by illegals in terms of identifying rapists, or saving people's lives? You are suggesting that the number is none, or less significant than those who perform bad acts? Pointless to suggest the streets would be safer, it's an unquantifiable and stupid thing to speculate on.

Less that you'd like anyone to say. Illegals are less likely to cooperate with Law Enforcement as they are afraid of being deported.

This poor woman was raped and your trying to hang your hat on statistics.

Whenever you have holes in your system you try to fix it. Its all part of a bigger puzzle. We have a failed immigration system here in the US and it needs to be addressed so that women like this are spared.
