We were unable to get my husbands SSN in time, im a bit confused on how we get it now that we sent off AOS. Will we have to wait till he has EAD card? or GC? or can we use the NOA forms saying AOS pending as a way to get his SSN? We really dont HAVE to have it right now although it would be nice to get some of those things on my todo list done like put him on my bank account ect.

It's my understanding that you have to wait now, for either EAD or GC, whichever comes in first.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Your timeline is missing your US entry date but I'm assuming it was some time before your marriage date of January 07 - for SSA to issue a K-1 entrant a card/number, you would have had to have at least 14 days remaining on the I-94.

That has long since passed so you'll need to wait (now) until the EAD or PR/Green Card has been issued.

  • 1 month later...

He arrived Christmas Eve but we went in end of Feb but she said it was 2 close to the expiration..I thought as long as it was more than 2 weeks...but either way :) We can be patient. It would have been so much easier to have gotten it done at first..but I work a lot and around the time he got here he got sick then got me sick then i got him sick we just were like going round and round there for a while but were healthy now :)

Yes, you will now have to wait until you have EAD or GC, whichever comes first. Hopefully you will not have to wait too long! Best wishes!
