It pretty much means your case appears simple, and they do not feel a interview will be needed. The same happen to our file last month.

They may have decided your application didn't require an interview at your local office. In a week you might receive another email saying it's being processed at a USCIS office. That just means it arrived in CA safely. ;)

Our VisaJourney started July 2009 when I mailed the 129-F

Fiance here February 2010, married 10 days later

GC received in the mail 10-Jun-2010

Able to apply to remove conditions 12-Feb-2012

The above answers are very good. The transfer could also reflect a heavy caseload at your local office. Your application could be transferred back from CSC to your local office, but the chance is remote. Just relax, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Norrin,

I know both of us have similar time lines. I am also in Texas and my case also was transferred to CSC. What everyone has said is true, often it is because your case is simple and does not need a interview. Most of the people I know that have had this happen, have just gotten the green card in the mail with no interview. So hopefully this happens for both of us!!

Good Luck!

I found her in March 08'

Our case show transfer on March 17. As of today, we still have not received the GC. It could be..they are waiting to issue the new design. We already got EAD and AP

When I checked my case status on-line yesterday, I still had that notice that my case had been transfered to California Service Center. But today it just says:

Initial Review

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

So I am very confused: if this notice means my case was transfered back to a USCIS Service Center (so it is not in CSC anymore), then WHY THEY DIDN't MENTION on-line that my case was transfered from California SC back to a UCSIC SC?

I would like to hear someone's opinion on my situation. Do you think my case have been transfered again or they just changed the wording of the notice (as they don't mention about transfer of my case from California back to a USCIC office)?

Thanks in advance ))

If you read it carefully it says this: "The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office." [emphasis added] where the previous one said: "we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action." [emphasis added]

This new one is telling you that the file has arrived at CSC and is now being processed. You should think of the first letter as if you sent something with delivery confirmation. You know it was sent, and now you know it's arrived safely.

Dear Vanessa,

I believe your view of my situation DOES MAKE SENCE. Why didn't it come to my mind before?

Thank you

Dear Wratran,

thank you for sharing your experiance with me, too. As soon as they haven't sent you any mail notice about the assumed new transfer, then maybe there was no back transfer at all. AT least I hope so))

my theory is that USCIS is holding the GC for the new card design. I checked their website for timeline for I485....right now it shows 6 months
