If I booked the window then I'd ask them to move.

If I got assigned the window and the aisle was open I'd thank the travel gods and sit right down there.

I'd show them my ticket and tell them to move. Politely of course.

Using a hand gesture... hm. Most people I sit beside on planes dont even pay attention, so I doubt they'd see it.

And I've never tried quail eggs. I've had quail though, it's good.

This has happened to me a few times before. I always ask politely if they will move as they are sitting in the seat that I booked. What comes next really depends on them. The first time this happened, the person pretended not to hear me and didn't even look up. I tapped him on the arm and he gave me this incredulous look and just said "What?". I told him that he was sitting in my seat and asked him to move. He said the plane was about to take off, "just sit down as$hole". So I replied that "either you move out of the seat, or i'll go get a flight attendant to move your dumb #### out of my seat because clearly you are too stupid to read". That was great because he moved, and I didn't have to worry about anyone bothering me during the flight.

If you're already on board, you're not late.

if they messed up your reservation and you have to wait 50 minutes for them to fix and they had to tell the pilot to wait for you cuz they promised you'd get on that flight, since it's their fault not yours, then you're late because the plane is not leaving as scheduled.

You're on-board. You're no longer late (that is, no longer in danger of missing the flight).

So once you're on-board and no longer at risk of missing the flight, there's no longer any reason to be intemperate. Relax, you're on-board now.

  1. other--offer to trade the seat that remains for that window (I've used this in practice when my assigned seat WAS NOT the window...)--if occupant refuses, hand-gesture
  2. yes
  3. it's ok (tastes basically like reduced-size chicken-egg)

question #1...is the aisle seat open?
Newsflash: many people (myself included) like window-seats due to WALL being there to lean on--which just isn't there on the aisle! Edited by Saddle Bronc

I actually prefer an aisle seat....I'm the same in the cinema...I need to feel I can get up and about without climbing over people. Also, I have a weird phobia about being sucked out of the window

I quail at the thought of having to sit on the aisle and being jostled by fat people waddling by who should have paid for two seats for themselves but got away with buying only one and this is a run-on sentence that sounds like Speedy Gonzalez on a caffeine high, si man.

If I were in charge of All Things, I'd make the minimum speed limit 100 mph within a 10-mile radius of any airport, si man.
