Given that the K-3 info is still available on the USCIS website, I suggest false information.

K3 is administratively closed if you apply for it and CR-1 together. CR-1 is the far superior visa and is significantly cheaper than the K3 so I would apply for it over K3 anyway.

K3 requires AOS in order to work and get greencard. CR-1 has roughly the same requirements as K3 but you get GC immediately on arrival and can work and travel immediately.

They cashed a check for your I-130 filing fee. Has nothing to do with K3.

USCIS, as you know, does not issue visas. NVC, part of Dept. of State, as you know, is who effectively killed the K3 visa.

I see post stating you can't even do a K3s anymore. If so why is it even in the guides?

This is in the process of happening right now. It is still in the guides as it is in the process of being phased out since there is no longer any benefit to be obtained from the K-3 versus the CR-1 route. There are still people who are somewhere in a K-3 process most of whom will probably end up as CR-1, but there may still be some K-3s that come through down the road. Once the K-3 is well and truly done and there is no one left anywhere within a K-3 process then the guides will be changed to reflect the new reality. Things are still in transition though so it is premature to remove the guides.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

And USCIS will go ahead and process the I-129F and send it to NVC. NVC will send it back to be administratively closed.

And from my dealings with USCIS, they mostly seem unaware that this is happening.

There is also the K3/4 part.

My friend applied for K3 with dependent and it seems that NVC will forward her case to the embassy as K3/4.

So it's not definitely dead yet.

I had a suspicion that the people at NVC could read a petition, despite opinions to the contrary.

Can but will they. "It seems" seems like a hopeful opinion, not a progress report.

I sent an email to NVC inquiring about the K4 issue. They responded that I should contact USCIS. I replied that the question was for NVC and referred to their notice. I just received a reply indicating they require a case number before responding. How does that "seem" to you?

I know you have concerns about this issue and they are legitimate.

Would you rather be "right" in your original concerns, or would you rather see the issue being addressed?

Of course I would like to see these concerns addressed but I'm not so invested in it that I'll take somebody's hopeful statement as evidence the concerns are being addressed. If "it seems" as certain way because NVC said so, that's a different matter.
