hi all,

Just got my NOA2 and it looks like it's on its way to NVC...

so preparing i-134 to send over to my fiancee wanted to ask about question 11 since there are different answers...

do i check I intend and describe how

or do i leave it unchecked and put N/A

what is the best answer? i've read mixed answers on this...

also for this and things like paystub and letter from employeer... is it okay to send them now or should they be dated .. say 30 days or less prior to the interview date?

fiancee will interview at islamabad pakistan.

Check INTEND, then "All support needed, requested and required". DO NOT LEAVE BLANK

Your pay stubs and letter should be dated close to the interview date, I agree 30 days max. If the postal system there is unreliable use fedex or ups, DHL etc.

We checked DO NOT INTEND and below wrote: (N/A - K1 visa process for permanent residence)

The purson is going to be your spouse - in that it is implied that you will be supporting them and not providing specific contributions (unless your going to stipulate a weekly allowance for your spouse! and then you better give what you say each week haha) That was intended to be funny

For items like paystubs and bank statements etc.. I provided the latest up to a few weeks before the interview (but I was there so I took them with me). If you will be mailing them, send to most recent that you can and still assure they arrive in time for the interview.

Hey Firefly !

Had the same question and did some research on VJ ( actually stumbled around until I found something ) this was a big topic of discussion awhile back. I think I found it by typing in I-134 in the search engine .... something like that ???

Anyway, there was an example of an I-134 ( the old form ) but I think it makes sense. I will try and attach it to this reply.

Basically neither box was checked but was annotated below the boxes .... N/A ( K-1 visa process for permanent residence ).

It was discussed that the reason for the question in the first place was because there were alot of temporary worker visas' being requested, issued, whatever ?? It's a good read if you can find it.

Sounds like we're all hitting the same time frames here.... I been looking more and more now at the next phase, which is the interview and associated papers. I plan to send my girl a packet with all the stuff she needs for the interview, minus the local docs she needs. But I got one of those expandable file folders, like here:

http://www.smead.com/Director.asp?NodeId=303

And I have begun putting the packet together. All the original backups for the 129F, my I-134 and corresponding docs, printed photos on photo paper (2 pics per 8x11 sheet with descriptions), a full copy of the original submitted 129F, Original Certificates and such... I also plan to print all the 156, 156K and 157 DOS forms for her so she'll have minimal printing to worry about and I can FEDEX the packet a few weeks before the interview. Been looking at example forms here:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;page=examples

It never ends!!!! Then we finally get our mates here...and we do this madness all over again with AOS....and more fees.!! :bonk:

My husband (then fiance) ticked "intend" and explained. We had no issues and no RFE's. I personally would tick "intend" as "don't intend" and leaving it blank seems wrong.

**Edit - The only reason I would tick "do not intend" is if I was a co-sponsor or joint sponsor...

This is often debated. I've never seen any report of problems checking intend and indicating you intend to support as your spouse. I HAVE seen problems using the recommendation in the VJ example forms. Make your own decision.

The problems I've seen tend to be country specific but the absence of problems is not.
