Hello, my interview was done and approved on 1/25 and received GC production email at the same day. Today 1/28 i received another GC production email (don't know why).

We plan on leaving country on feb because my wife can't wait to go back. We've asked travel agencies that 2/8 is the last departure date for promotionl flight ticket and we must act fast because promotion ticket is running out. (The regular ticket is almost $1000 more than promotion ticket , 2 ticket=$2000 more). Also changing departure time for promotional ticket will cost a fine of $700.

So, Does anyone have any idea how long it might take to receive the green card? will i be able to get green card before 2/8? Thanks for help and suggestion!

Well personally I would THINK that if you have someone watching the mail, when you get the greencard (if it's not in time) they can post it to you. Perhaps could you make an infopass appointment? I would take your GC production email with you too if you do end up travelling. I would make an infopass personally if you can. I'm not sure if posting a GC internationally is the best idea. But it's AN idea if it's needed.

You could set up an infopass appointment, get an I-551 stamp in the passport, MAYBE.

We plan on leaving country on feb because my wife can't wait to go back.

Your wife doesn't even have a Green Card yet, but she can't wait getting the hell out of the USA and back to China?

Your problem isn't the duration of AOS; your problem is that your wife doesn't fell at home here on the US, and you might want to put some effort into making her more comfortable. Book a flight to San Francisco and spend a weekend in Chinatown! Experience China in the USA, together!

(I proposed to my wife in Chinatown.)

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

i have to disagree. I simply stated "she can't wait to go back" and you would think that's because she does not feel home here. She can't wait to go back because her mom is sick, and since that's totally off my question so i didn't explain.

Go ahead and book the ticket. She already has the AP and the greencard is on its way. I was out of the country when my adjustment of status was approved and the greencard sent. I simply returned using the AP.

Moving from the AOS Progress Reports forum to the Working & Traveling section.
