You are the beneficiary applying for a visa to come to the US. You are not a US citizen so you can't use the law to refuse vaccincations. if you want to come here on a K-1, get married and file for an adjustment of status you are going to have to meet the vaccination requirements for the paperwork or you won't get approved...

ok then if i can't use my hopefully future country's laws, i can certainly use other laws

or if not who has decided to get their vaccines done in the US and not their country?

(ETA : just changed my profile, thank u for reminding me)

Hmm. Well I had partial vaccinations done in Germany and the rest in the US. I did not want the vaccinations either but I had to get them.

first i like to say am so sorry to hear about your mom rebecca

now to the op ok you say it is against your belives and you have to keep your body pure ,

so you meen to say you never had sex or went to a public bathroom ( where you can catch a desease )

or you dont go to the mall or grocery shopping cose someone might caugh on you and give you a cold ,

all this to keep your body pure ,lol.

so gotha wonder if your fiancee is as pure as you claim to be

and if she had her vaccinations as a child arent you scared ,that some of her so called poison will enter your so called pure body when you get married and have sex ?

no offence to your religion but I agrea with len if you want to stay pure why even make the effort on trying to come here ,

one question do you drink water or take a bath ?, please look at the ingrediance there are chemicals in water that will enter your pure body when you get in contact with it ,

you are still early in your process , so if you want to keep your so called pure body free of any chemicals , my advice is talk to your fiance and see if she is as pure as you and see if you can live in a bubble when you move to the states ,

we breath chemicals just by taking a walk ( what you think comes out of a cars exaust pipe ? ) lol

garfield great post :)

wow im impressed u must be a beast in debate class huh, so many great points

honestly dont know what to answer to ... all... that... ... . u understand so much about religion and purity wow so so smart u are, im gonna change my religion and be just like u, the dream of a lifetime just came true

ahem

OP,

Your religion is not more important then public safety. Yes, you may have your religion, but this is not your country (yet) America is nice enough to give you the option to live here whereas a lot of other countries do not afford this luxury.

For a person so close to God I find your claim to spirituality laughable. You are confrontational, dismissive, and out right rude to some ppl that have done nothing but try to help you or give a normal opinion (which you asked for).

Leave Sara alone, she is probably the sweetest member on VJ and if anyone deserves special treatment it would be her. Not once have I read Sara say that she is entitled to anything from the government.

All your posts have the same theme and always seem to "rattle the bees nest". I think you like to think that it is you and your religion against the world. I actually think you enjoy this confrontation, it validates and entrenches you in you beliefs.

Didn't have time to read all the posts, so someone may have already answered this.

I think there was some discussion in the waivers section at www.immigrate2us.net - that site kind of makes a specialty out of waivers.

Be aware that a waiver will likely add a lot of additional time away from your loved one.

Extra time is - I believe - what the OP is looking for as she has openly stated in the past that should her K1 be approved, she does not know if she will be able to utilize it.

Mr K -

I hope you don't think I reacted the way I did to your 'poison' comment because I've some 'boogie-man' complex with persons from Africa or the region itself.

Haven't all the greatest plagues in history been in Europe?

My reaction was really based on the perception that people who do not believe in vaccinations are somehow "hilarious." After all, we are only doing what we think is best based on what we know, just as those who promote vaccinations do it based on what they know.

The other stuff that has come up about the continent, in my opinion, is due to people relying on negative propaganda and "Lies, dang lies, and statistics".

Okay Mr. K, i have to say that i have never been so irritated at reading someone's post. HOWEVER, it is your opinion therefore no one can and no one is trying to judge you. We are only trying to give our honest advice based on what we know. I for example hate to get vaccinated because I don't like needles. HOWEVER, I understand that in order for me to go to school in this country AND to be HEALTHY I had to get them, and also it helps prevent the spread of contagious diseases. There is a chance that even if you are not vacinated you might not die of any disease, however, that is a very big risk to take. I rather be safe than sorry. But you can choose what you want to do for yourself and your family, it is YOUR decision. We are only telling you what we KNOW based on FACTS not OPINION. You can look at the facts and make up your own opinion. The other people like Rebeccajo are just trying to give you the info that to the best of their knowledge is true. Every time they say something they give you a post with facts that you can check up.They are giving you facts, so please stop responding to them as if they are out to get you.

Jessica

Why are you irritated about reading MY opinions about what I will do with MY life and MY family? Really, that's not your concern. You have a problem with me having an opinion that differs from yours, which you should actually value. I doubt there is anything here anyone can say to change my mind. What I am hearing is nothing I haven't heard before. Let it be.

There you go again, it seems that you don't read a post completely before replying I clearly said : "Okay Mr. K, i have to say that i have never been so irritated at reading someone's post. HOWEVER, it is your opinion therefore no one can and no one is trying to judge you." SO IF THAT IS NOT CLEAR TO YOU I WILL SAY IT AGAIN, I AM NOT TRYING TO JUDGE YOU. AND WHEN I SAID I WAS IRRITATED WITH YOUR POST I WAS REFERING TO HOW YOU REPLIED TO RJ FAMILY TRAGEDY!!!!!!! ALSO in case you didn't SEE/ READ it I also said "But you can choose what you want to do for yourself and your family, it is YOUR decision."" You can look at the facts and make up your own opinion."

So next time you reply to a post please read it carefully BEFORE you post something

Also for the OP, i don't knowhow the waiver would go alone, who knows you might get lucky and things might work out for you. When my cousin was going through the immigration process she had to have a medical. And I don't think they gave her all the shots. BUt maybe she had them from when she was young, i dunno.

Well if getting the vacines is something that is really something that you can't do because of religious reasons, then you should really push for the waiver. I guess what a lot of people are trying to say is that the possibility of sucess are not looking good.

I personally would get vaccinated for anything that is required by the laws of immigration. But you and I are different and we think differently which is normal.

I think we became too agressive in this thread. The bottom line is this, there is a waiver. It might not be granted easily (or at all) but it is still there for people who would want to use it. Thus, this means that there are exceptions to the laws of immigrations, because if there weren't any we wouldn't have waivers. LOL

Well you can try and do the waiver, however, u have to consider the risks. There is 3 scenarios that can happen.

1. longer time waiting for waiver to be process, waiver denied, visa denied, noney lost on waiver, away from your love one

2.longer time waiting for waiver to be process, waiver approved, visa approved, didn't have to compromise your relgious beliefs

3. take the vaccines, no money spent on waiver, things move faster

SO its all up to you. Whichever one you pick you have to be happy with the results regardless of the outcome because you are making your decision fully knowing the consequences (if any).

Good luck and whatever you decide keep us posted

How did it work for you?

Since vaccination is, by the constitution in the US, only voluntary and not at all legally obligatory, I assume for the visa it is also possible to refuse vaccination completely.

I read you can wait until you get in the US to get them done for your AOS. I guess it would be easier THEN to use that part of the constitution to say no to do it.

Has anyone done it at their medical in their country? said they'd rather do it in the US?

Im in Paris just called the doctor to ask just FMY and she said yes i can say no, but since it will be asked in the US i might as well have it done (PS she doesn't know i intend to use a couple ammendments lol)

She also said they could REQUIRE it for the visa. Does anyone know if i can do like they do in schools in the US just say I don't legally have to and they just ake me sign a waiver?

Anyone knows the legal ways one can use?

PS please no need to tell me how great and useful it is to get vaccinated and how i am crazy not to get it. lool

Have a wonderful week everybody

your fiance DOESN'T have to get vaccinated if she doesn't want to. But INS doesn't HAVE to grant her a Immigration Benefits..

Just because you think u don't like the idea of getting vaccinated doesn't mean you are entitled to the benefits that the majority of others get by following procedures. If you don't like it stay in your fiance's native country and live there have a happy life. but if you want to stay here and have a happy life be willing to follow the rules and procedures everyone else must follow Don't hide behind the constitution. It's a document to uphold our principals not to be used to circumvent the law. have a nice day

have a nice day.

In before the lock?

Couple of things:

Rebecca -- my mom also was infected with polio before the vaccine, as well. And she has been suffering the effects of PPS for several years now. (Although nowhere near as bad as your mom! I'm so sorry.) I was an adolescent when things really began to head south in regards to her health. It's tragic to watch someone who thought she had beat the disease decades ago suddenly lose most of her independence and mobility all over again.

re. getting your titers checked is a potentially good idea in regards to getting around the vaccination requirement BUT it's not likely that you'll still be covered with all the required vaccines. I had to re-do my MMR about two years ago.

You can say no to anything you want in the visa process, you just won't get the visa...

I hated getting the vaccine and going through the medical exam, but bit my tongue and went through it without saying a word.

The nurse who gave me the vaccine was so nice and commented, "The things you do for love ...

The Lord is my strength and my shield,

My heart trusted in Him and I am helped,

therefore my heart greatly rejoices,

and with my song I will praise Him.

Psalm 28:7
