I like the Versa - it's about 80 percent from the Renault Design - a nice partnership between Renault and Nissan.

I'm getting a small fleet of Renault Kangoo's in , next month, with the turbo diesel engine, for a farm to store operation (Don't ask, we wanted something cool for the 'Organic' side ).

Anyway - good on ya !! you putting a trailer hitch on that bad boy???

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Does that car even have enough torque for carrying a trailer?

Hey Congrats ! Nissan is a great choice, I have a 1998 and about 250,000 miles on it, bought it in 2001 with 34,000 miles.........enjoy your new car! the versa is a cute car!

Thanks, Nissan seem to make good cars as do most of the manufacturers right now. I've seen a few cars out there with over 200k on them. It goes to show if you treat the car right throughout it's life and if it's well made you'll get more than your monies worth. My soon to be ex wife has hit 150k on her 98 Saturn that we bought used with 82k on it. Still running strong I'm very impressed with that Saturn. My Escort had only 96k on it and it basically died on me then again I've seen Escorts with 250k on them for sale actually in autotrader just recently! I'll be driving this wee Versa for a few years to come I'm hoping without any issues. I just need to get the hang of the gearbox again!

If I'm reading this right the manual says no trailer.. outside the US I've read yes these cars can pull a load behind them nothing massive but they can pull a load. I've heard it's a liability thing from Nissan in the US so they say no pulling a load. Back over the water you can easily have your Versa or Tiida hooked up and ready to pull a small trailer.

I think with the Escorts that has such high mileage, the engine may have been replaced with a younger one or rebuilt.

It's possible it's also possible that someone got an Escort that left the factory and it was just done right. My Escort left the factory and died right where it was supposed to right at the 100k mark lol I won't fault the escort it was my first car here in the US I only paid what $2,800 for it and got $1,000 back on it.. I mostly got my $1,800 out of it over the past two years.

way to go, versa is a nice car...

Thanks!.. I can't wait to personalize it in the next few months.. tinted windows, new head unit thinking of putting in a small PC with GPS, MP3...etc It's a really nice wee car even though it's the base 1.8 I really like it. I can't even tell the engine is running when I switch it on!

The Japanese cars do seem to hold up, especially with regular maintainance. I would tell you how many miles are on my 1993 Toyota 4runner, original engine, but I don't want to jinx it.

Then don't tell me! lol.. someone I knew had a small toyota car it was late 90's.. before they got rid of it, it had hit 200k on the clock! Unbelievable then again that Saturn an American brand with 150K on it and still going. I think that Saturn will easily hit 200k before it thinks about dying! Well as long as the oil is topped up!

I'm very excited I can't believe I just bought a car! I got a 2009 Nissan Versa S 1.8 hatchback, manual transmission, manual everything else too lol but I only paid out the door including all the fee's even the hidden last minute we forgot to tell you about this $300 charge.. I paid about $13,500 everything all in I even got financed by Nissan for about 6.77%!

I haven't driven a manual in a while so I've gotten lazy to the gears and will have to get used to changing gears again but I'm shocked how much car that money bought. That wee car is massive inside, really big in there. It actually feels like half car half crossover if that makes any sense. It sits high up and has a ton of room inside but isn't a big car. Well next to the Ford Escort I just got rid of it feels like a limo!

So even with a limited credit file and with the credit crunch still in full swing I suppose it is possible to still get credit out there.

Congrats, Aiden! That's a pretty damn good deal! Your perseverance paid off.

Wow! I can't handle that. You don't know when it's going to break at that high mileage. My dad had a Chevy Astro Van that went to 300k. He had to rebuild the engine twice.

For me, I'd just trade it in for a new one.
