difficult website

this website has a lot of good information, but I find it EXTREMELY difficult to navigate. for example, can someone tell me how you add an event to your timeline? also, sometimes i subscribe to a forum topic, and then I still can't find it again when I want to. Unless you have hours and hours to devote to trying to find your way around this site, it's really very difficult to understand. also, when I initially registered, i did it wrong, now I have 2 accounts and can't figure out how to delete one. I wouldn't want to confuse people for example, who might be trying to determine how many visa applicants there are from Italy.

I post new topics, then I can't find any responses to them. REally, I think they tried to make this website with too many features, and it just made it confusing.

Go to My Assistant on the top right of almost every page. Then click Edit Timeline.

when you posted on a thread, you can look at the list of threads you've Posted something on when you click on your name, or for example, my name, then it will show you the options:

view member profile

add as friend

ignore member

send message

find member's topics (the threads started by the member)

find member's posts (the threads the member had posted on)

Try to read the guides when you enter the respond page and it tells you everything you need to know, don't worry it may seem daunting but trust me it is well worth it..

can some nice person just tell me simply how to add to my timeline? I would like to do that just to contribute to the site and it might be useful to someone else. It should be really simple to do, but maybe I'm just not holding my mouth right. I searched help for "edit timeline" and there was nothing. Thanks. Really, it's almost funny. this should be the simplest thing to do.

Look at the navigation bar on the top of the page, the one that starts with "My controls." Click on "My assistant" and it'll pull up a little menu. One of those items will be "Edit/Add my timeline."

I agree, navigation on VJ is pretty new-user unfriendly. Ewok's working on an overhaul to the site, and hopefully it'll include easier navigation.
