Comments : when i arrived at detroit international airport, i only had to wait for about 15-20 minutes until i was able to go through customs. The lady who did the whole interview was very nice and friendly. I was worried though because she said it was her first time to have dealt with a K-1 visa case. I only gave her my packet from the embassy, the filled out I-94 form then showed her my passport. She stamped a date on my visa, stapled the I-94 and then she explained about getting married in 90 days but also i told her the wedding was gonna after 6 days and everything was set :) She congratulated me and then I set off to get my bags which took so long to do! then i had to run to catch my connecting flight but i had more than enough time to do that since i got to detroit about 30-45 minutes earlier than my supposed arrival and my connecting was boarding at 2:05 pm so I had about more than an hour to get on my next flight :)

Embassy Review : I arrived at the embassy around 6:20 am, waited in line with all the others to get inside the building. After security checks, I was guided to head my way to the right area. They have directions as to which side of the building so as to decrease confusion The guards were very helpful, and once inside I was told to wait in line again to submit the Ds-156, 156K, and 157. But i had to go back in line as i kept the "planned date of arrival in the USA" on Ds-156 blank. She said I should write whatever date I wanted so I just put in October 2009 (handwritten) and then I waited in line in the next booth as told and was given a number. I waited for my name to be called for the fingerprint scanning, there was again someone who helped with the fingerprinting, so that was nice. I stated my name and DOB as well before I did that. Then after that, I waited for my number to flash on the screen with the corresponding window number. The woman was filipina, she was strict, not too friendly I must say, but it ddn't matter much, She asked for my BC, CENOMAR, and NBI clearance. She also asked me to state my full name, DOB, my parents' names to countercheck with my BC. She then asked me to state my fiance's full name, and DOB, and I guess it got her attention when she learned me and my fiance are of the same age. She also asked what my fiance does for a living, and what I do. Then she asked for the I-134, bank statements, and proof of engagement. I gave her our pictures, I had about 20 lol and I guess she got interested with our photos lol They were fun pics, she looked at every one of them. We had photos of us with the family, so that was also good. She asked for proof of ongoing relationship and i gave her the emails, phone records for skype. She also asked when we met, I gave her the date of our actual meeting in person, but she wanted to know the date we started talking, so i gave her the exact date..She became satisfied with that lol.

After all that was done with she told me to go back to my seat and wait for my number to be flashed again. I waited again for another 20-30 minutes, then I was guided to room 27 for the final interview. But i had to wait outside for about 10 minutes, I sat on the other side and the girl who guides people where to sit was rude! She told me to go sit on the opposite side, it sounded like she was scolding me! But I did not want that to ruin the whole thing lol as i was just really anxious/excited to hear i got approved lol.

I went inside room 27, and there were 2 consuls there, someone else was also interviewed in the other cubicle. The american guy who interviewed me was very friendly and polite, he apologized for having me wait again since he was finishing up with the papers from the last interview he did,he greeted me good morning, smiled and then he started asking same questions. i stated my name,DOB and my fiance's. He was amused though how I sounded..well he thought i spoke great english lol.He asked if i've been in US or other countries and then proceeded to ask when we met, I told him like what i told the previous one. I told him when we met, and that we met on this rating site, which made him laugh or amused for some reason lol ( I think he might be a member of that site lol he didn't have any wedding band so who knows maybe he is lol.. I should've asked as it is a rating site and people post their pics their to be rated 1-10 accdng. to your so-called "hotness" lol )

anyway, he also asked if i worked, then asked me if there were nurses who'd actually want to stay in the country, I told him my 2 sisters opt to stay in the country and that they're also nurses. He said that was nice, but he also said it would be nice to have filipino nurses in the states too to help them out. I just smiled and nodded my head. He asked what my fiance does, his position in the military, and if that was for a career or just for some time. He then kept writing stuff, checked my papers, and told me I got approved so that was really nice to hear, I was really happy even though I was really literally shaking because it was WAy cold in the embassy! He told me to have a good day and to wait for my number to be flashed again for the final directions. I thanked him, and then I asked him again coz I asked if i can get the pictures back. It made him chuckle and he said, yes I can get them back. So I just smiled, even though that made me sound silly to ask, but hey I wanted to know

I waited again, and my number was flashed after 2 minutes and I went to the window 33, i got my pictures, a pink slip stapled to my appointment letter(the so-called white slip), then I was directed to air21 where I paid 220 pesos for delivery. I was then directed to the exit/entrance lol After about an hour post interview, I got a text from air21 for my tracking number.

In summary, I went inside USEM around 7 something then got out around 9:30.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
