We received our NOA2 TOO SOON! ???

Hello,

I did all the math .. added days from dates .. etc etc.

We were not expecting our NOA2 until September 15th.

NOA1 Date (4/23/09) + 145 days (as per reported processing times) = September 15th

HOWEVER, We received our NOA2 on 8/20/09 Which is 119 days.

Why the discrepency? Should we consider ourselves lucky or is this the REAL VSC approximate time?

Okay, Now I need to figure out what to do next.

First of all, congratulations!

It's good to know the approximate time is getting smaller, it's a good sign. We received our NOA2 only 16 days after our NOA1, completely out of any statistics and a huge surprise.

Plus, approximate means the average so, it's normal.

Time to celebrate and wait for your process to be send from NVC to your Embassy.

Sorry you didn't find Igor's list earlier, but it reports that March is almost done, and 30% of Aprils have gotten NOA2, so you're right in line.

It's hard to tell from the averages. I think the median is quite a bit lower than that.

As for the reason for the discrepancy, there's plenty of speculation about it in other threads—but that's all it is, speculation.

Anyway, don't worry about the reason. For whatever reason, you got it! Celebrate that you got it and prepare for the next steps!

Consider yourself blessed. Some people but not many has gotten their NOA2 within the first 30days of filing. So don't be concerned you will be just fine.
