Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

So I thought we were all set. Got back from Montreal last Friday, everything went great. Fiance had the package go to her dad's house. She calls him up from work Monday and asks him if it is there and he says yes. He ends up opening it and when she went to pick it up she found out it said "DO NOT OPEN". I guess he is Bosnian and can't read English or something.

It is kind of a sticky wicket, because she lives in Windsor but works in Detroit, so she has a work Visa in her passport too.

Anyone have any experience with this? Are we headed back to Montreal?

Geoff

Is there really magic popcorn inside???????????

Yes, sorry, you have to go back and get it officially sealed again, kinda sucks, and keep the damn thing away from the children (well he IS someone's child!)

For anyone skipping ahead to page 2, we did not have to go back and get it sealed. It turns out that it is pretty much up to the discretion of the immigration officer at the border.

And yes, I realize how lucky we were!

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

BUT do not go by the OP saying he got through with opened packet. He was lucky. The packet is still not supposed to be opened and if it tears or is somehow opened take it back to the Embassy and have it resealed folks.

Maybe I missed a reply but I don't think so, can we go back to the question posed my "missing_ron"?

They asked:

"Which package was this? I ask because my fiancee's mail goes to his parents' house -- he has moved a few times since we filed -- and I could see them doing something dumb like that!"

I would love to have the answer to that question as well!

Thanks in advance and good luck to ALL!!
