Do you have ANY IDEA how many times threads like this have been started on VJ? Assuming some kind of bias based on nationality?

when nessa and i was going thru this, vermont was the fast one - 30 days average. cali was about 90 days. give it another few years and it may be back to the speediness it was in 06.

i'd suggest the op start researching the consulate phase as that can advance fairly fast - nessa's case took about a month and a half from approval at csc to consulate approval. there is a brazil thread here for conversations and advice in portuguese.

a possible explanation is that they may approve canadians faster becouse they have to wait much longer at the consolate stage, not sure but i know they do approve cuba faster for that reason. but they are not bias.

Speaking as a Canadian I know that they sure didn't process our application faster - it seemed like people from every other country in the world were getting approved before we were. We were well outside of the processing date when they finally approved us - and I know other Canadians as well who ended up waiting long times for petition and visa approvals. It just seems like you are being singled out but you're not - we are all equally subject to the inefficiencies of the system.

I went through CSC, but my petition was no faster than any others because of me being Canadian. The only thing I think is a little easier is the consulate stage, but for those of us who have to go through Montreal we definately envy those of you who get your interviews within a month of your packet 3. Praying that you only have to wait 3 months sucks.

The only country I have heard that they push through really fast is Cuba and thats only because they have sooooooo much to do on their end to be able to leave the country.

I think that relations with the Canadian Government is good and for security and backgrounds checks it may go much faster with Canada. The Brazilian Governemnt may not have the same good relations and trust with the USA Government. So hang in there it will come. Good luck and God bless your visa journey.

Yeah, that's not true at all. The relationship between the US and Brazil is really good as well. Maybe Brazil isn't as close as Canada is to the US, but Brazil and the United States are on about the same terms that Canada and the US are =good, no problems.

But it doesn't really matter either way. The fact is that there is no bias. Some countries, like Cuba and some in the ME have to go through extra security checks AFTER USCIS, but Brazil is not one of those countries...therefore the complaining should stop cause there is no bias.

As Katheryn said, everyone feels like they are getting singled out when they are waiting.
