Consulate Review: Senegal
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description

Embassy Review : Interview was a nice woman. Accepted explanations when our answers differed slightly. Pushed our visa thru quickly when I told her I already had husbands airline ticket leaving for US in 5 days, had it ready in 4 days. Now picking it up was a pain because we were given an appointment outside the "normal" pick up times. The woman at the outside window was adament that we had to return the next day and that I had the wrong pick up date. I wouldn't budge and kept asking for superiors and refusing to take "go and come back later" as an answer. She gave me all sorts of reasons I had to leave - I needed to schedule an appointment (even though I had an official note stating to come in on Monday), that the woman wasn't in so I couldn't pick it up, that the packet wasn't ready, that no one else could put the packet together, etc, etc, etc. I stood my ground and we were finally admitted. After we got inside it took less than 5 minutes to have packet in hand!! The packet had been finished the same day of our approval (per the timestamp on the packet). I was very happy to have the packet in hand but really pissed that the lady at the window was such a witch and did everything she could to pursuade me to come back at a time more convient for her.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
