women suck.

and sometimes, that's why we marry them

LOL, Charles you are too funny!

What I learned is that I am GLAD that I am no longer married to him! It also taught me that just because it ends in divorce doesn't mean something wonderful can't come from it....my son

Ok,

First marriage lasted for 6 years if you count the year and 8 months we didn’t live together... that he wouldn’t sign the stupid papers...

I take full blame for my first marriage reasons being ..

1 don’t get married at 17 (and the guy is way older or the inverse)

2 don’t think you can change the person you are with

3 marry a man that you can be with your WHOLE life not just one you like to look at (this applies to both sexes just reverse it)

4 find someone you can sit in a room alone with for 12 hours and not want to harm physically

5 remember the ultimate goal in marriage is to settle down have kids buy a house... so if those are things you don’t want talk about it first.

6 make sure your mother likes them first **found that to be key because even if you don’t really think so MOM IS ALWAYS RIGHT**

Now that the divorce is final and I am re-married ... I and my X are fine again. Our children are both very happy and life couldn’t be any better.

I had a great marriage for 4 years it was the last 1/2 year together that ruined our relationship. Sometimes small things that are insignificant to your SO are VERY important to you and vice versa.

I believe honesty is the most important thing, he didn’t think honesty was important.

He thought kids were important, well I kind of gave in on that one (I think 7 year difference in age made that difference)

beyond that I don’t talk much about the last year of marriage and the serious issues ....I try to remember the good times so that I don’t want to re-think how nice I was in settling marriage issues. :)

BTW did I mention I am HAPPILY REMARRIED to the bestest person ever lol

After reading this thread, I told my husband, lets try to be civilised if we ever get divorced in 10 years time or whenever. He said -- It will be all my fault if we ever get divorced -_- because he is an angel.

Interesting. I haven't read anyone admitting to their contribution of why their first marriage failed. I guess it is easier to lay the blame entirely on the other spouse.

It is always the other spouses fault isn't it?

Obviously.

I had a lot, PLENTY, to do with my marriage breakdown. I'm not going to share details here on VJ though. And my admitting guilt doesn't mean SHE has none of her own.

Tell us all the nasty little details. We love gossip.

Yes, please, Ron...do tell.

Fvcking voyeurs getting cheap thrills from other people's misery.

Is that what this website is really all about? :P

 I'm kidding. But seriously...how about a synopsis? You can leave out the juicy details?

I screwed around.

She caught me.

I then tried to be a good and faithful husband for about 3 years. Marriage counseling, the whole nine yards.

Packed up stakes in the states to move to Israel just to get a clean start. Wasn't enough.

That's it fellas. End of story.

Did you screw around with other women or sheep?
