My mom is in ICU and will pass away within days...maybe hours.

I have called both NVC and USCIS and both gave me standard response saying that even an urgent expedite request would take 5 business days to get a response. I have also written an email to the US emabssy in Paris asking for their help. Our case was finally received today at NVC, but because of a data error on their side with my birthday they will not discuss my case with me until my birthdate is corrected in the system.

What do I do? My mom is asking for Kwabena and really wants to meet him to know who will be my husband and also Kwabena and I already have a son named Benjamin. Benjamin is the first and only grandchild in our family and my mom wants to know Benjamin's father before she passes.

:help:

What do I do? What can I do?

I really need him with me right now. :crying:

Oh dear, I'm sorry to hear this news!Your child is a prince, he's so cute. Is there any possible way that mom can travel? Maybe a webcam meeting(I know it's not the same as in person, but it's something). i can relate to your situation because my husbands father only spoke to me on the phone, he never got a chance to meet me before marrying his son,he died 2 months before our wedding. I would be very open minded right now, just in case nvc cant/wont expedite your case

Sorry about your Mom,

You might be able to get a

Port-of-entry parole: authorized at the port upon alien’s arrival; applies to a wide variety of situations and is used at the discretion of the supervisory immigration inspector, usually to allow short periods of entry. Examples include allowing aliens who could not be issued the necessary documentation within the required time period, or who were otherwise inadmissible, to attend a funeral and permitting the entry of emergency workers, such as fire fighters, to assist with an emergency.

or

Humanitarian parole: authorized at USCIS headquarters or overseas District Offices for "urgent humanitarian reasons" specified in the law. It is used in cases of medical emergency and comparable situations.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

He can travel on a visitors Visa, isn't France a waiver country so he can come here with no issues to visit.. He would have to return to finish the K1 fun and games at the Embassy when the paperwork is finished.. I have my fiance here with me right now, she has been here 3 times total since we filed the K1 paperwork... She is from Thailand and we got her a visitors visa in 2006 that she continues to use.. They even stamped her B2 entry this time for 18 months, her I-94 show Oct 1, 2010 departure date.. So it can be done for sure... Of course I want the K1 completed so we can get that all behind us, but we do the best we can until the "Blackhole" called VSC gets their act together, been 7+months so far... Good luck and I am real sorry about your Mom, God Bless you all!!!

Sorry to hear about you mom! I lost mine last summer. Tim wasn't able to be here with me, but he had met her the year before, only the one time. That was before we knew we were getting married. He was such a strength to me, even though he wasn't here.

I hope everything comes together for you...I like the idea of the web cam thing, if that's the only solution. Those two suggestions from Bobby_Umit are great! Hope you can do that.

My condolences are with you...

Your best bet is to file a request for expedite service and then contact your state's Senator for assistance. At this moment, your case is still at NVC so Embassy may not be helpful.

I think someone mentioned the visa-Waiver program. If your SO is carrying a French passport, then she can visit, if not you may have to get the guns out and plead your case with the powers that be. Good luck.
