well cr-1 is the best visa out of all of them some will disagree but it really is in the long run. but it would be best to do the papers together when you come. that way you both can get all the answers correct on all forms

but you will need to collect the papers you will need like

these all can be xerox copy for uscis

birth cert. for you and spouse

4 copy of the g-325 biographical page

marrage lic.

I-129-f

4 passport photos

good luck

Moving to IR1/CR1 forum for more replies.

Welcome to VJ! It looks like the CR1 is probably the most appropriate visa for your situation. K3s and CR1/IR1s are taking about the same time to go through London right now, and the CR1 allows you the full benefits of permanent residency on arrival. My husband got a CR1 and we have NO regrets.

Okay so we fill in the I-130 form and send it (do we only send in one form for my husband the US resident & (myself and my daughter)..... Does that mean that when it is approved we can go to the states on an immigrant visa and file for the CR-1 when we get there? That seems a bit too simple ... lol

The USC will fill out the I-130 and send it to the lockbox in Chicago. You may send the packet, including the GA-325 and your marriage certificate, while you are in the US but you must return to the UK. You may get stopped at the POE because you are visiting your husband. THere is no guarentee that you will be admitted into the US.

PLEASE read the guides, a lot of your questions will be answered there

good luck

Hi Goldylox,

My fiance and I felt the same confusion at the beginning of the process. We are still have the interview 'hoop' to jump through. In retrospect, it was not nearly as bad as it first seemed. Now is a good time to get started on the paperwork in order to marry in January 2009. If I've read your info correctly, you probably want to file the I-129F first (Vermont) for a K1 visa. VJ has been an excellent resource and I know that we could not have done it without having this valuable resource. Best of luck!
