Congratulations on receiving your green cards and all the interviews and approvals! :)

We are still here waiting.. no news and no touches since more than a month ago... I'm just afraid that my fingerprints did not go through again.... Oh well, I'm gonna wait a few more weeks and if not I will give them a call. I read about a person whose fingerprints did not get processed the second time and she only found out after she called them, because she never got a third notice or anything. I hope that is not our case.

Ok so my interview went pretty well!! We got there on time, my layer was already there waiting for us, and within a couple of min we were called in. The IO was very friendly, she looked at all the pics we had and ask for documents proving bonafide marriage (I was a little worried about this because we don't have a lease since we live with my in-laws, but we did have a letter from them stating that we live with them), she also asked for my original birth certificate and police clearances. Other than that she only asked how we met (to my husband) and his birthday (to me). And that was it. The interview took around 25 min total. She took my I-94 and EAD. But thanks to my lawyer she stamped my passport even though she said that i should get my greencard in 2-4 weeks. Needless to say my husband a me a very happy. Thank you guys for all your support and help. And good luck to all that are still waiting. :star:

Congratulation on your approval!!!! I have my interview on August 22nd and Im very nervouse! I was wonder about the police clearances...do u get that from your country? On my interview letter they don't ask for it...

No, they are from all the places I've lived in the USA, within the past 5 years. See, I came here with my parents in 02 with a L2 visa, then changed to a student visa, and finally did AOS cause i got married :luv: lol So i've been here for a while. In your case since you came with a K1, you haven't been here for more than 6 months and you don't need them. Anyways, good thing my lawyer told me about that because I didn't know either and they diffinetely wanted them.

The only thing I would advice you for your interview is to be very well organized and know where all the documents are. I had them in a file organizer that came in very handy! Make copies of all the documents they might ask for so they don't have to, including a copy of both of your drivers license and pictures. My IO asked if we had copies of the poctures and drivers license and she was so happy we had them done. The easier you make the IO's job the better. Good luck on your interview, and everything will be ok.

Got an RFE in the mail on Saturday-- They need a I-693 (I just sent the form in which my fiance got at his medical in Nairobi for the Embassy interview, since I heard that most times it goes through without a problem). Thing is, I don't think there would have been a problem except my husband had a minor surgery before he left Uganda and apparently the Embassy medical said he needed to have a 6 month follow-up physical for the surgery. Strange since it was very minor and really doesn't need any follow up. Oh well, time to book an appointment with a civil surgeon. Can anyone tell me about how much they have paid for a physical with a civil surgeon?

Besides the extra money at this point I can't really complain. At least I know they are looking at my husbands case! I assume as soon as we send in the additional evidence we'll see a green card in the mail soon! (crossing fingers) :innocent:

Hey,

I didn't get a RFE but as I know that the immigration lose many I-693 I decided to have a new medical exam in the US before my interview so I could bring a brand new medical folder... And you know what ? I was right cuz' my medical folder was missing in their folders. I paid $90 for the vaccination transcript + blood test (syphilis anf HIV) + Tuberculosis skin test.

Hope this helps :)

I think the photos from the applications are only for identification purpose. Btw, did the picture in the greencard is the same from the EAD? I wonder because I know old greencards required the photo to be tilted 3/4rs instead of straight forward, but my picture is straight, does anyone knows anything about that? lol
