I see it's a little snowy in some places there. Here's what I'm dealing with:

http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/busi...archbox_localwx

A CCW front traveling from west to east passed through pulling warm moist air from the gulf increasing the daytime temperature to 50*F, but with cool night airs, condensed and dumped 10" of snow on the ground. As this front passed, the CCW rotation pulled cold air from the arctic dropping the temperatures to slightly below zero, but at least not 35*F below zero like last month. So we are experiencing some localized warming, but still damned cold.

Since the air is warm, starts off with a rain, that turns to an icy rain, then a very wet snow followed by the cold temperatures that gives you a cake of ice. Plow gets through the snow, but an ice layer underneath that. That is what we are driving on now, ice. Suppose to warm up in the next couple of days, but lots of accidents now, or is that really an accident? Miss my studded snow tires.

We wobbled between rain, freezing rain, snow, back to rain, then snow again yesterday. There's a couple of inches accumulated snow on the ground at the mo, our first significant snow of the season here in Morganton.

We're on a 2 hour start delay for work. Can't afford to close the plant for an entire day I'm guessing!

A few inches of the white stuff in the DC area, maybe 2-4" Enough that my wife gets a free snow day off from work!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

technically it's from the apartments.. there's a corner where everybody leaves the shopping carts so when they wanna go get groceries they use those..

they can't use the grocery store ones because they put some sort of locking device in the carts and the wheels lock as soon as they leave the parking lot

Snow above my boots! 12 inches at my door! Thankfully they cleared the street of Manhattan so when I got off the subway it was a clear walk to work.
