Need suggestion on where to buy wedding rings

Good evening everyone!

Well, we have finally started a normal lifestyle with both of us working so it is now time to shop for wedding rings !!!

We are looking to spend not more then a $1000 for two wedding bands and need an advice on where should we look for a good combination of the price and quality. We are looking for a white gold diamond wedding band for me and white gold wedding band for my husband. I was thinking of Kay Jewelers because they normally have pretty good discounts.

What do you ladies and gentlemen think??? Please share your experience.

Look inside of a Cracker Jack box, could be lucky. If not a wedding ring, could be a driver's license. With higher than a 50% divorce rate in this country, ebay has zillions of rings for sale.

But seriously, this is a ripoff business, I was fortunate to have a long time friend, VN veteran that was paralyzed from the waist down that ran a modest jewelry shop in town. I had no problem trusting his judgment. And got the most value for my money. If you go into one of those big fancy jewelry stores, you are paying for the overhead and also for the BS. This guy could even make a ring to your specifications, look around your neighborhood. Unfortunately, my friend passed away a couple of years ago.

You could also check local pawn shops...some of them look good as new, and only you and hubby will know they are "used"!!

Or Walmart...their selection really isn't that bad. Call around also and see if there are any jewelry stores going out of business in surrounding cities. Even an hour or two drive would be worth it if you can save several hundred dollars!

Yeah, wedding bands shouldn't cost you much more than $100 each for gold. Platinum and/or diamonds cost extra, but unless you want to impress everyone with your wealth I'd save the extra $800 for stuff like home furnishings or appliances.
