Wow, Carla! That is absolutely fabulous!!! I don't blame you for being proud of yourself one little bit. You deserve a bit hug! hugsmall.gif

Thanks Reba and Krikit! :) I've never had a bit hug! Don't leave any teethmarks please! :o:hehe:

I'm still debating on Sparkepeople. I'll reevaluate when I get back from vacation. I'm finding it extremely difficult as it is keeping my FB up to date and posting here on VJ, and the million other things I do every day. I'm afraid I won't be successful in keeping that up to date as well.

i really love sparkpeople!

I have lost 1.5 lbs from yesterday =p

tho I am sure some of it was just water, but it's so encouraging!

I actually don't mind counting the caleries, least i know what I am putting into my mouth!

i love how it breaks down the fat/carbs and protien - I noticed i really lack on protien most days

Carla, I admire you SO much. I don't know how you do it. I find that I get really good at managing my diet and exercise and then I do my housework and that's about it for me! You do all of that plus volunteer! I have to get my butt into gear! :P

Travis&Kim, that is super encouraging. I definitely use the food tracker to keep track of my protein and my fiber. I notice that when I'm not tracking my fiber I get less than 10 grams and we need 25-35 grams per day! That fiber really makes a difference!

So true, for me I was totally missing my protein!

Here is my update: This morning I was down 3.9 pounds from start Jan 5. I am weary that may just be some water weight, so we'll see what I'm at by the end of this week. I go to the gym 5x week, and then have reduced my avg calorie intake to 1500/cals a day. It's been tough, but Sparkpeople is definitely keeping me motivated!

Congrats Carla! Thats awesome!

I think I've also been making progress. Over my first week, altogether I lost 1.4 lbs. This is taking into consideration how weight fluctuates 2 lbs every day. I allowed myself to splurge a bit on the Friday night and Saturday since my main goal is moderation, but then gained it right back. (+1.1lbs as of my weigh in on Sunday night) I did my work outs last night and had lost 2.2 lbs. Yay! Im hoping that its the start of a great streak!

Krikit, I did edit my page, personalize it a bit, so maybe that helped? Hopefully by now youll have gotten the invites and found everybody :)

Alright, it just must have taken awhile to get the team loaded. If you search for VJCanada in the Sparkteams now you should be able to find it and join. Everyone's welcome!

Protein problem here as well.

I'm down 3 pounds since I joined, but again, I'm sure it's water :P

I'm good on my carbs though and it's hard to stay in my calorie range but if I go over a bit I don't sweat it...I just try my best! :)
