I finally bought a scale last week.

Its such a liar though, I want to take it back and exchange it for another... but I'm afraid I'll find another liar again. :P

All scales lie.. didn't the box say that?? at LEAST by 20 lbs :)

Oh! Well then I'm alright then. :) *rummages through cupboard for Twix bar*

Hey guys, you can manage the emails you get from sparkpeople and instead of leaving the site altogether just stop all of the emails. You can find that in the "My Account" on your start page!

I've been exercising about 95 minutes per day for the last week and a half, burning about 1000-1200 calories and eating anywhere between 1500 and 1800 calories per day. I've been doing really well and I'm feeling awesome! I weighed myself yesterday at the doctor's and I'm down 3.5 lbs from last week! WOOHOO! :P

It's okay. I don't think anyone's leaving, Amy. We're just unsubscribing from the distribution lists.

Okay my scale is a piece of #######!

I stand on it, it gives me one number... I stand on it again... it gives me another number.

Then being the sugar coater I am, I take the lowest number and treat myself to a cookie. :P

I need to go buy a new scale.

Eating cookies is good.

Eating more than two is not.

Food for thought.

Hee, hee.

I've always heard that once you get married, you gain weight. It's sort of like the freshman 15, but for marriage. I guess maybe you get so comfortable with your significant other, and you eat more together? I don't know what it is. Anyhow there is an article that actually claims this is true, sort of. Called "Does falling in love make you fat?"

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28997324/

I find this part really true in my case:

"As a couple, you probably stay in and cozy up (with food) on the couch more often than you did when you were single. Plus, you’re at risk of picking up all of your sweetheart’s bad food habits. I think this is especially dangerous for the women out there who were pretty good about watching what they ate when they lived alone, but now get tempted by their hubby’s or boyfriend’s perpetual snacking"

When I lived alone in my apt, I really controlled my portions and what I ate. No one else was around. But now, if my hubby is snacking on something then I have a bite, even if I'm not hungry just because he's eating it and it's good. I would never do that before.

TOTALLY agree with that, Jill. Before I married I never snacked. Nor did I eat dessert. Plus, I was always out and about doing things. I really miss my pre-marriage body. LOL

It's all about willpower, but I'm the first to admit I don't have ANY!! And the worst part is, my husband works 11-8. He gets home at 9, and I choose to eat dinner with him. I used to eat dinner at a normal hour, and I know eating late is bad for you and can make you gain weight. But I love eating dinner together, we talk about our days and it's nice. So eating late is taking on one of his habits, but it's my own choice. Plus I don't feel like cooking dinner twice!!

I have a hard time buying that eat-late-gain-weight concept. I grew up eating late and only changed it to accommodate my husband. And, even then, I still don't necessarily eat at the same time he does. Pretty much all of Europe eats late too. I'm more inclined to believe it's what we eat, not when we eat.
