I got this idea from the Monday thread.

I know we have a few new member and some old ones that people may not know much about.

So to get to know everyone I thought it would be a good idea if everyone gave their first names and what they do for a living......

Here goes.

I'm Amanda and I work for an airline.

Hi yall--I'm Debbie and I am a LONGTIME special ed teacher for elementary age kids. I still love my job after all these years. My hubby is a tailor currently working for a company that makes custom suits. We are very concerned because of all the companies shutting down around here. I wish all of you happiness in your relationships!!! PS--Hi Judy!!

Hiya all, I'm Mariah, like the singer but without the valuable pipes. I'm a LPN currently in long term care, and a nationally certified massage therapist.

I have an 8 yo daughter, Eliana, to a previously wretched marriage and I live with my mom and brother but pay a heck of a lot for a little babysitting.... My husband, Amer, is a slave welder/fabricator/refrigeration extraordinaire for his brothers Catering Supply Company in Jordan where he is also a lifetime Gaza/Jordanian refugee.

And I see Mrs Amera already hit on Jen, which was exactly what I was thinking... can we make it a trip for three or four if Hanouna wants to take lead and write us a grant ? :star: I still need to see Europe, India, China, UK, Peru, Brazil, Russia, and S. and W. Africa, Thailand and...... oh yah Nepal I'm willing to work my way through all these countries, literally.

Peace,

Mariah

Hi y'all..

Im Farha, and Im currently a good for nothing layabout (what my parents think and sometimes scold me of, hehe) since my wedding in April! Fast forward, its been 9 months yikes, and im not even in the US with hubby yet. sucks.

I have a bachelors degree in finance but never worked in a bank in my life. I used to work for a women's group and then a peacebuilding group; organise events for non profits, and project handling. My only corporate experience was on this thing called corporate social responsibility hehe. I dont know what Im going to do next. In a perfect world I'd like to have a financially sound and fun career that i dont have to go to office for, maybe work at home or project based, while i play house and raise my family and cook yummy food and can afford to go shopping. No kids yet and no idea what to do. :(

I haven't really been around or posting much, but thought I'd add my "Hi, my name is Kristen and I am a....."

oh, right it's not an AA meeting. *kidding*

I teach American Sign Language at a local state university and a local Adult School, which I have been doing for over 5 years. I also just recently went back to work for my former employer as an Accounting Specialist -- I'm doing it for the extra income. I have my BA in Sociocultural Anthropology, which isn't highly useful unless I get my PhD. Am considering (again.. just this time I need to be more assertive) grad school to pursue a higher degree (and more reason to not work while I get my education... haha... unlikely).

My name is Kearin and I have been lurking for waaay too long :P and this is the perfect place to give an update :innocent:

I am a laid-off Pastry Chef (my specialty is cheesecakes B) ) who has become my husband's secretary/accountant. I am working on becoming a professional slacker, I just need to teach my husband enough english to write his own e-mails and pay the bills

My husband and I export heavy equipement (bulldozers, cranes, water pumps, generators, ect...) to the ME. Since my part of the job is shipping logistics, accounting, and general office work - I stay home, have a TV in front of my desk, and cook every meal from scratch  I love to cook and now I have the time for the real deal!

I also returned to school last year and decided not to give it up, even if I had given up my career  . So... I am a senior with a 4.0 GPA (whoot!) at Florida International University - School of Hospitality. Right now I'm taking extra accounting classes to become a CPA (possibly) and specializing in Event Management. I get to be an associate at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival next month! Too bad I don't drink the booze anymore
