Got my greencard today.. BUT>>>

Under the header of Sex it says "M" instead of "F" :unsure: Now if they woulda looked at the picture while making the card they would of noticed this was a mistake but no..

After a ridiculous amount of time listening to the USCIS recording I was told to call back when they are not so busy. From what I have read on the USCIS website I need to send back this card and reapply for a new one :angry:

I am on the phone and on hold again with them at this morning... maybe a sex change would be easier :lol:

what if you just leave it as is... and just wait for the citizenship...

I am concerned with any wrong information on such an important card. Having to explain the situation each time I travel or need to show the card would be a pain I think. I don't want any reason for added stress in these already stressful situations. I hope you get your card soon.. and it is all correct on there :)

You will have to file an I-90 for replacement, but since it's because of an error on the card, you will not have to pay the replacement fee.

Perhaps an infopass may get you a stamp in her passport and that wil solve the problem for traveling. And then you can wait for the corrected card - I have heard sometimes they take many many months. Good Luck

Chances are they will tell you they can't give you the stamp until you get the NOA for the I-90 back. That's the trouble they were giving me. I mean, I got it in the end, but it only took 3 hours. ;) So file the I-90 first, wait for the NOA, then make an Infopass to get the I-551 stamp until you can get the new card.

January 10, 2003: K1 NOA

October 23, 2003: AOS NOA

November 10, 2005: AOS approved w/o interview (749 days!!)

September 30, 2009: German Beibehaltungsgenehmigung

February 9, 2010: Naturalization interview and Oath Ceremony!

Fetaria, try to ignore people who tell you how you *should* feel, for crying out loud. *eye roll* geez. :wacko:

d...what the heck GOOD is it that she got it, if she can't USE it? Think about that for a half a second or so.

I would be frustrated too! At least it's with your Green Card and not on your actual visa like the recent one that happened! ;) I don't know what your situation is though, so it very well could be equally as frustrating...before Craig got his GC we couldn't afford AP when we applied, so he had to wait...so he needed his to be able to travel, etc...at any rate, I hope you get it straighted out soon! :) M.

Yea, unfortunately we decided to save some money and didn't apply for an AP or EAD for me at the time. I may go in for an infopass to get a stamp in my passport in case I need to travel.

Frustrating is that I was unable to get my Social Security card, they told me to come back once I had my green card. Every turn I make I am asked for one so I was hopeful to get it soon. Do you think the welcome letter would be suffice for that? I might try it. Always have so much fun at the Social Security office :lol:

And yes I am grateful to have the approval. It is just kinda like being given this long awaited gift for Christmas... knowing it was coming.. opening it and it is the wrong size.

My husband is irrate. He is writing letters and who knows what all. Angry that we paid so much money in prossessing fees for this to have it prossessed wrong. We understand a typo, we are all only human. But to have to prove ourselves all over again, submit more forms and to be put on hold even longer is what is upsetting. They have piles of paperwork with me marked as a "F" and crazy amounts of passport pictures of me by now.. yet here we are sending more to prove it their mistake.
