Since you used church as an adjective, which church? Were you married in a church or was your marriage just blessed? If just blessed, that really isn't your marriage date. Have to get married by a JP or some other means, the church doesn't go along with the requirements of immigration, takes way too long. But if it is the church I am thinking of, still can get married and receive the sacraments, but just can't have sex. Of course you are not legally married by the state until your marriage is consummated. But they just take your word for that, don't have to do that before a judge and jury. But if you did have sex and is the church I am thinking of, have to go to confession first before getting married.

State really doesn't care if your marriage was blessed, but if you have it blessed, in the event of a divorce, have to try to get it annulled, you think a divorce is difficult. Matrimony is really not a sacrament given by the church like other sacraments, but a vow given to each other in the presence of God, but only as good as each of the people making that vow, some people do lie in which after much proof the contract is considered invalid. Having a marriage blessed in church use to be done in secret as scandal was involved, but now done openly making one wonder if God never changes, why does the church.

I just renewed my vows to my wife this morning, we do that all the time with a smile and a kiss, was a miracle to meet someone like her.

What does the earth making 365.242199 revolutions before fully orbiting the sun have to do with our happiness? What if we got married on Mars? Neither my wife or I share that concept, each and everyday should be a special one for us and we both have forgotten our marriage date. Ha, until recently, the church didn't even recognize the fact that the earth was rotating around the sun.
