and I wasn't talking about long distance relationships I was referring to couples who met online...

I have met a lot of people "online" (friends, not an SO) who I then went to meet in the flesh. There are a lot of people who are completely different in the flesh than they are online. They may be able to project certain aspects of themselves online differently, where they feel inhibited in real life (for reasons of shyness, or whatever) and no amount of time with then in the flesh will change that.

On the other hand, some people are exactly the same online as in the flesh.

if someone were to meet me as they were walking down the street or whatever.... I come off as a very shy person but once you get to know me I am totally different..

My point is exactly as stated. I'm not sure why you are responding quite so defensively when I am only stating my opinion and experience. Just as you are free to do yours.

Most people take time to get to know properly no matter how you meet them. Some are *not* like they are online for reasons known only to them.

My husband was exactly the same online as he is in person. He says the same about me. We give people what we want to give them, nothing more nothing less.
