Letter of Intent to Marry for INTERVIEW

Hello All,

How long was your 2nd letter of intent to marry? I am talking about the letter that is meant for the interview? I am unsure if it is supposed to be longer than the first one I submitted with the I-129f, as that one was only a couple lines long.

We submitted the same one as we did for I-129f (we got it from VJ example forms), just updated the date and signed it again.

I used the same one- with the updated dates and got it notarized with a date closer to the interview.

I think you're fine, just update it.

We added more things, and of course we updated the date. But everything was for nothing because during our interview they never asked for the letter of intent, i think they ask for that, depending on your case. I wish you the best

I had interview a week ago and was never asked for letter of intent, but I guess it depends on the consulate, and my fiance was with me. I was surprised that they asked OF-167 as I thought it was optional and should be used onlyu if co-sponsor is used . Anyways, my fiance filled and signed this right there. Just thought I would mention that in case you don't have it.

yes the same one should be fine, it shows that you still intend to marry that person.

What's an OF-167?

It is an Optional Form for affidavit of support, required by Vancouver consulate. It is in addition to I-134, and I thought it is optional in case you use a co-sponsor(as the name says - optional), but nope, they wanted it and good thing my fiance was with me, so he filled it right there.

What's an OF-167?

The OF-167 was in my packet 3 from Vancouver. I imagine that if your consulate needs the OF-167 that they will include it in your Packet 3.

I printed off the same ones from the original petition and just changed the dates. They didn't even leave my bag at the interview. Another consulate dependent thing.. You would think they would standardize the procedure or something...

So my fiance's checklist from Frankfurt did not include a letter of intent or a OF-167....should I be freaking out that I didn't send these??? His interview is Tuesday and I don't know if I could get them to him in time!! I am nervous!! someone help!!

Jerry redid and resigned a new letter of intent (barely different than the first one). I wasn't asked for it specifically, but was asked for "all the documents requested as part of the package we sent to you". This was in Montreal.

Just used an updated version of the original letter of intent but London also get you to sign a declaration that says you intend to marry your fiance. This could be the DS230 declaration but i didnt note the number on the form just the declaration
