I didnt. when my son was about 2 I let him help pick when he went from crib to bed and we did his room in cars and trucks. right now my daughter is living with hand me downs and the like, when she gets older we will do the same and let her help decorate her big girl room.

Oh gods no. Kids should live in a dank, dreary basement or crawl space until they get old enough to stop being annoying. Say, around 25 or so.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

LOL

We have the crib in our room. The idea of having a separate room for a baby seems odd to me, but to each his own.

But how else will the non-nursing parent sleep through the night? ;)

When my littlest brother and sister were born we painted the nursery yellow; it was a small room so the light colour made the room appear larger than it was, and was generally sunny and cheery. There wasn't a theme as such, mostly because it was too small to have matching furniture and everything else (curtains, etc.) were recycled/second-hand.

He was in his own room by about 2 years old. It was a combination of Winnie the Pooh/Thomas the Tank Engine/bear in the Big Blue House...etc etc...He grew out of that then it was a combo of little bits of Hot Wheels/Transformers/Star Wars...etc

Anyway, he is nine now and his room is decorated in the "bomb-hit, toy slide followed by a tornado landfall" style.

I am letting him decorate his room when the new loft bed gets here.

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

my first "crib" was a box my mom covered in tacky purple wallpaper...

I wasn't going to do a theme in my babies bedrooms... I wanted to do ducks and frogs but I figured they would grow out of that.. but then I was thinking to do a neutral stuff on the walls but get a cute blanket set etc.. oh and that border stuff that is removable for the walls...

Joshua has had Winnie - The - Pooh since he was born, hes 3 now.....i did the winnie the pooh wall clings, bed sheets, blankets, stuffed animals, changing table was plain white, so i drew winnie the pooh on it.

he LOVES it still, even tho ok yea by doing that forced it on him hahahahha.

When he turns 5 i will let him pick his own room theme.

Shonna had rainbows and kittens until she was 5 when i let her pick her own theme.

now she is 12, and she wants to paint her room dark blue with glow in the dark moons and stars :)

As in "Hey kid! Gettouttamyyaaaaahhhhdddd"?

My son had Early American Garage Sale (I was 19, single....and in college) and my daughter had Paddington Bear. I suppose if P and I have any kids they'll have to have Janosch in their room :)

Kavi's room is bright colors, some polka dots and animals, mostly jungle animals. We didn't buy a bedding set or anything though, I just mixed and matched different things. He hasn't slept in there yet and when my parents visit they stay in there. A lot of the stuff for decor in there is from IKEA.

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)
