A Romanian fed up with neighbours' gossip has been to a gynaecologist to prove she is still a virgin at the age of 60.

Rodica Trandafir, 60, from Bacau county in eastern Romania, posted the results of her virginity test to neighbours to stop rumours in her hometown.

She told local media: "I'd had enough of locals gossiping - they said men kept coming to my house at all times of the day and night."

She has now visited a gynaecologist who confirmed she was a virgin and gave her a certificate to prove it - which she then posted it to all her neighbours.

She added: "There has been some nasty gossip about me. The men my neighbours are talking about are relatives who are helping me do some work on my house.

"To make such accusations about a woman of my age is disgusting. I hope now they will all shut up. To claim I am a loose woman of any kind is outrageous."

my friends great-aunt is still a virgin... shes in her mid-80s...

she is pretty happy with her life... she doesnt seem to feel like shes missing out on anything

Like that is the only kind of sex. Though this reminds me of when my husband was walking to the BMV, he found a collection of porn in a ditch on the side of the road he was walking on. Not just any porn, mind you, no, this was grandma porn. Of course, we didn't quite believe him until him and my brother thought it would be hilarious to go see if it was still there. It was. They brought a few DVDs home as gags. One was hanging up above my brother's door for awhile. It was almost as bad as the day we were all sitting around bored and wondered if it was true that someone really made Spongebob porn...Some things just shouldn't be googled. Really, you guys, really.

There are many people who have died virgins, of their own choice. People shouldn't be judged by one type of view on life, that everyone has had sex or must be a loser.

Well she probably was taught back then by the females in her family that sex was gross and dirty and a wifely duty that you just had to put up with if you get married, and definately don't enjoy it.... so she just probably decided to avoid marriage like the plague...

Some people are asexual or just don't want to be bothered with an SO? To be honest though, I really don't care that she never had sex. I think the fact that she may be able to prove that she is a vaginal virgin will not stop the ####### nonsense as the others are unprovable. If possible, she should just probably move, but that is not always possible.
