Ok, I'm done with this process.

finally took my oath yesterday at atlanta DO.

There are 111 people from 47 different countries took oath and became citizen of one common nation USA.

Hi. I am concerned because I see people who filed N-400 after me are already processed and completed the oath process. I send my application was received on March 27th 2008. I went for the biometrics shortly thereafter, but I have heard nothing since. The website indicates that they process applications in the order in which they are received. So, why then, are people who filed after me finished with the complete process? I live in CT and sent my application to the VSC. I hope a letter didn't go undelivered to my house...any help???

Don't worry, you can't gauge your progress by the progress of others, unfortunately. Check out our timeline (VSC , Buffalo DO) ....

We had the same concerns as you, so we called and were told that no interview letter had been sent out. Since we are still within the published USCIS processing times, there is nothing we can do.

Not sure on how to update the chart. Just received my INTERVIEW appt--its for Wed Oct 15 at 10 am at the office in Fairfax VA

Mailed initial paperwork May 30.

And for those that care, no my info online has not been updated!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I received my interview letter today. The interview is scheduled for 10/22. Can anybody update my info?

Does anybody know how soon after the interview I will have the oath ceremony? I've heard people had it the very same day. Can that be true?

Passed interview and took oath 09-24-08. It was a straight-fprward interview followed by a short oath ceremony. The whole process took about 5 hours.

Hi fellow vjers,

I passed my interview today. I got there 15 mins before my interview time. They called me about 30 mins later. Went over the application, had to read a phrase, and write another, both very simple. Then, I signed my application, and that was it. Done in less than 20 mins. The officer mentioned that the oath letter should come in 4 to 6 weeks. Lasty, they make you sit in the lobby to wait for an acknowledgement letter which states that you passed the interview. But this waiting time is like no other, first because you are there relieved that everything is coming to an end soon and second because you get to see the faces of people coming out of there with a smiley happy face. Some of them act like nothing happened but you can definitely tell they are exited that they passed. Others like me looked exhausted but relieved. I noticed that people were going in for an interview very fast like every 15 or 20 mins. They seemed to be moving fast. I hope that all the remaining May filers do well on their interview. Good luck. Oh… almost forgot, be positive and assertive, make the interviewer want to pass you!
