Congratulations on getting the oath letter. Its unfortunate that Memphis office took so long to schedule one. I am still awaiting the letter, hopefully soon.

Would have had oath ceremony today as well,if it weren't for that extra file, oh well, not a biggy! Cheers

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I had my interview today. Passed without a problem.

I got there at 11:40, my appointment was scheduled for 12:05. I waited for over 3 hours and finally got called. Got asked the usual questions but did not get my oath appointment on the spot because I made a change to my application (got married in June).

I am now awaiting my oath letter which will hopefully get here soon.

After that, my other journey begins, I-130 and K3 Visa for my wife! Good luck to everybody!

I guess they figured out what that extra file was and my oath ceremony is now scheduled for Monday Dec 15 @ 0900 in Fairfax VA. The Fairfax VA office normally does the interview and oath the very same day, so I should have been completed on Oct 15, but the extra file held me back,oh well,lol best of luck to everyone. I must say this process went a lot faster than what i expected.

Just updated mine! I had my interview @ Fairfax VA on Oct 15 and all went well EXCEPT there was an 'extra" file on my case which they had to retrieve and look into! Otherwise Oath ceremony would have been same day at Fairfax!! I know have my oath ceremony Mon Dec 15. This was a rather quick and painless evolution, could have been as fast as 5 months, but 7 months isn't too shabby either. Best of luck to everyone else

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
