I've never been to Paris, but my husband went through Charles de Gaulle. He flew Air France in and out of Paris on his way to the U.S., with barely an hour to make his connecting flight. This was his first time flying. He said everyone at CDG and also the Air France flight crews were so nice and helpful, and he had no problems at all. (Except Air France lost his luggage. But they found it again the next day.)

I agree Lufthansa is an excellent airline.

Some people have problems with CDG. I would probably try to go through ORY instead.

But isn't ORY in France, too?

ORY is in Paris you mean... yeah, but it's a much smaller airport and probably not as confusing. But I've never been there

France, Paris, Paris, France. Ain't that all the same?

Not sure that CDG is all that confusing. It's just that they have the old and the new terminal. The old one is dull and, well, old while the new one doesn't seem to be, shall we say, structurally sound. It's a bit of "up the stairs, down the stairs, onto the bus and off the bus" and all that nonsense but the signage is pretty good. I mean, one can find the way fairly easily.

I don't think CDG is any more of a catastrophy than FRA or LHR. I actually thought LHR was much worse than CDG would ever be.

LHR is BAD! BAD! BAD!

London Gatwick (LGW) is GREAT!

I didn't like CDG and Schipol (AMS) is ENORMOUS, but a beautiful airport!

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Gatwick detained me, I have nightmares, lol

Heathrow was fine, cept the security lady took SO MUCH TIME checking my purse that I almost missed the flight...oh, that and she sprayed my perfume on herself without asking

CDG was uneventful for me, btw.

NEVER NEVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER AGAINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!

Air France was horrible!!!! THey refused to escort us to our connecting flight at Charles De Gaulle airport to fly to Athens. When we finally got to our gate they had 4 Air France employees watching a couple argue and hold up the line. We all were frantically waiving our bording passes and they ignored us, then when they finally paid attention to us they refused us entry on the plane. They yelled at us that it was IMPOSSIBLE for us to board the plane. That we were LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So 6 of us were left behind. We had to wait in the airport for 4 hours to take a flight to Milan Italy (not where we were going) to get another connecting flight back to Athens. We had to call the hotel to tell them we would be late, not to give up our room.

We were supposed to be in Athens at 4 pm and didn't arrive until 1:00 AM the next morning. AND THEY LOST OUR LUGGAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No compensation. We didn't get our luggage until the 3rd day in Athens. We wrote a complaint letter, gave them receipts of purchases of clothing, toileteries, etc. we had to purchase. And we got nothing, NOTHING in return. They stated it wasn't their fault that Air Atalia lost our luggage!!!!!!

SO, I say DON'T DO IT IF YOU CAN AVOID IT!!!

I have never had any trouble at CDG - donc je n'ai rien a dire.

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Conditional Green Card dated 24th October 2007

I-751 posted on 6th August 2009

Received on 7th August 2009 in VT

I have flown to South Africa and America with Air France and had no problems. The Building alteration at CDG are a bit of a pain as you get bussed everywhere and it causes delays otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed flying with Air France.

Adele

Lufthansa and KLM are both excellent. Although the staff at Frankfurt can be very rude at 5 am in the morning! We all got chased out of the waiting area whilst we were waiting for a connecting flight. Apparently the lounges dont open that early. No idea where they expected a whole plane load of people to sit.
